ANOTHER DOOR OPENS

She made humble resolution
w
hen she found out the news
t
ears leisurely rolled down her face

ย How must one feel
w
hen they hear those wordsโ€ฆ
a
ccept them with heavenly grace?

ย In one way, she acknowledged
b
y speaking to God with an open heart
knowing her life was not a waste

ย Yet, not ready to give up the fight
a
nd passionately shaking her head
s
he was prepared for this unthinkable race

ย She trusted God, but, was faintly bemused
(Believing
His way was the right way)
not yet, was she parting
for a higher place

ย So with infinite love from her family
With incredible support from her friends

She fought with a smile and embrace

ย Though, after some time of following rules
a
nd playing this game with tenacity
h
er body tired and couldn’t sustain the pace

ย Thus, saying farewell to her loved ones
She
was given angelโ€™s wings
for her new life of eternal happiness

Another door opens…

In loving memory of family and friends
who have passed away~

Saying Good-bye to our Beloved Dog Today

Dear Fellow Bloggers,

This won’t be one of my ordinary poems.

I’m simply sharing the sad news
that our Lucky Girl passed away today.
She was a black lab mix, 10 1/2 years old
and a true canine sweetheart.

She no longer desired her normal walks or hikes
with us, as her hind legs were getting weaker.
So, we continued to give her lovin’
and made sure she was comfortable.

Ironically, she was fine last night and this morning,
before we all left for work and school.
About two hours later, our neighbors
heard her crying and checked on her.
At that point, she was lying down, unable to move.

Our neighbor stayed with her until I got home, shortly after.
He had covered her with a blanket, kept her warm and
continued petting her, consoling her
until one of her family members came home.

When I saw her, I bent down,
kissed her on her nose
and petted her.ย  She lifted her head,
looked at me, then put her head down.
I took her to our vet, after calling them
ahead of time, letting them know…

She passed away on the ride to the vet.

I’ve cried all day off and on and I’m not done, yet.

I’m thankful for many things:
my neighbor who took care of her until I got home
the fact that she didn’t suffer long
and, that she was able to say good-bye to
at least one of us…

We adopted her and gave her a good, loving home
for 9 years…

In return, she gave us unconditional love…

We now have a void in our hearts
and will miss her tremendously..

We love you, Lucky Girl~

Here’s a photo of her smiling at us all~

HURTING ANGEL

For those children unable to
live in a loving environment.
May they find a reason to smile~

If only she could dream
Of rainbows and butterflies
Of a friend who never lies
Of a mommy to braid her hair
Of a daddy to simply be there
Of a world not needing disguise

If only she wouldn’t dream
In her darkened corner, where she cries
Wondering the who’s, where’s, and why’s
If the ache will stay in her forever
The pain she endures is clever
Surrounding her dismal, shadowed eyes

Love is a stranger to her life
Allowing only distress and strife
No escape illuminates the dark
Caution is kept to erase the mark
Loneliness cuts her spirit like a knife

Yet, with folded hands, she looks to the skies
And prays for warmth in the sunrise
And wishes for rainbows and butterflies
