In Loving Memory of Mom for Mother’s Day ♥

I’m reblogging this from last year in memory of Mom for Mother’s Day. “We’ll miss you, Mom, but you live in our hearts everyday.” ♥

When I think of Mom, I think pink
Cherry blossoms in the spring
I think elegance and grace
and I envision her beautiful face
Her smile would warm others for miles
When I think of Mom
I’m saddened to know
I can’t call her and hear her “hello”
but I can see her
clearly as the garden from my window
and each day she graces my memories
while my love for her grows

To Our Son on his 18th Birthday! ♥

Those years when you relied on us
to hold, feed and guide you
return in sweet memories of
you smiling with your baby blues

To watch you grow as time passes swiftly
is surreal and miraculous
and to witness the young man you’ve become
is simply beyond marvelous!

Who Knows? :)

question mark

There’s no point to this poem
just something to do at home
passing a little time
with a few silly rhymes
you know how it goes
everyone knows
putting pen to the paper
cleaning house to the later
adding laughter and smiles
good for many miles
chatting about that
sharing coffee with Matt
  acting like a chef
cooking with Steph
always busy, not idle
running errands with Michael
I have to be true
  there’s so much to do
it’s been delightful
not frightful
simply entertaining
while ascertaining
though nothing is wrong
it’s time
to say
so long!

🙂

Out of Our Hands

Beautiful Blooms June 2011 006

Life’s events
stun and surprise us
some lovely and wonderful
others filled with sadness

Though we search and try
with all of our might
questions remain
with no answers in sight

So we cast our burdens
Let Him carry us through
for only He knows best
in everything we do

We watch our worries
fall to the floor
and feel freedom at last
with no thoughts at war

Our minds are at ease now
a breath of fresh air
Moving forward again
In our pocket, a prayer

Missing Piece

Though glowing rays
warm my window panes
I function in a daze
my nights remain cloudy
I dream only in grays
and when I reach for your hand
feeling only the sheets
my heart shatters once again
adding another piece

to the pile in my mind
of brokenness from the past
promises flowing
down the river
crashing with a splash
I miss your eyes
how they touched
deep into my soul
and how your loving words
made my heart whole

 but I’ll find worthiness
on a dusty shelf
and lying beside it
will be the strength I seek
for even without your love
I won’t remain weak
