Masticadores USA Editor, Barbara Leonhard, reviews Cora’s Quest!

I’m over the moon that Barbara Leonhard, Editor of Masticadores USA, shares her 5-star review of Cora’s Quest on her blog, https://extraordinarysunshineweaver.blog/, where she presents her poetry and written works of fellow authors, along with book reviews. Thanks so much, Barbara!

A snippet from her review:

Lauren Scott’s latest book, Cora’s Quest, is an endearing short story about how a fawn’s temporary separation from her parents teaches her how to manage fear. Lauren Scott’s tale reinforces the important role a family plays as a protector and a child’s ability to endure a difficult challenge…

We both would love to read your thoughts. 🙏 She also has a lot to offer, so I hope you’ll take some time to peruse around her site.

This week has been busier than expected, so I’m behind on reading blogs. But I’ll have more time this morning and later this afternoon. As always, I appreciate your presence here and wish you a fabulous day! ❤️

  1. Congratulations on this review, Lauren! I have to admit, I don’t read a lot of reviews as I’m such a slow reader that I’m reluctant to take on any more books, but I really enjoyed Barbara’s. It must be gratifying knowing how she “gets” your work.

    1. Thanks so much, Steve, and believe me, I understand! 🙂 Barbara’s review is spot on with Cora’s story, but then again, all the reviews are and it’s interesting to read the different (and similar) takeaways. Thanks again, my friend!

  2. Barbara’s review is a testament to your wonderful story, Lauren. It’s a beautiful book–both words and illustrations–and both you and your nephew Chris should be very proud of this achievement. 😊

    1. Thanks so much, Mike, for your wonderful and supportive words. Cora is my first children’s book and a first for Chris to illustrate also. So the outpouring of love for our book has been unexpected but so wonderful, to put it mildly. Thanks again, my friend! 🤗

  4. congrats Lauren, I can see why you want to move on and do another children’s book (after the C one) because this book looks like it came out really good – and what a nice message. I was checking it out on Amazon and need to get a copy. I will keep you posted. xxxx

    1. Thanks so much, Yvette, and I appreciate your interest in Cora’s Quest. I hope you enjoy her adventure if you have time. By the way, I’m delayed in responding to emails, but I’ll reply to yours this morning. 💕

      1. sounds good – and did you know that I have two grandkids? My step-daughter’s two children – and one of the things I try to do is share books with them – they are away for the summer and so I plan on sharing Cora’s Quest with them when they return.
I will get some pics too – they both love books already (their mom is an avid reader) – and so I will keep you posted.
        🙂

      2. I didn’t know you had grandkids! But I’m thrilled you’ll share my book with them and I hope they love Cora’s adventure. My nephew illustrated the book, so it was a special collaboration. He’s married with children, but made time for his auntie. 🙂 Pics would be awesome too and I can’t wait. 🥰
