Positive – An Acrostic Poem

Pink lines dictate rules for the near future with
Ominous news initially because of the unknown.
Scattered thoughts from this positive result of what will unfold –
Initiation after three and a half years of
Taking care of self and counting six feet from others.
Isolating from humans, but not from the warmth of nature.
Variant, new, old, irrelevant – time to buckle down while
Eager to enter into civilization once again.

A first time for everything, I suppose, and this is a first for hubby and me. It’s probably just as well we get Covid at the same time. But the worst part is over, fever and major fatigue. Now only mild symptoms that we have to plough through until we test negative. The sun is shining. The sky is bright and blue and lovely. We have our patio and backyard to visit nature and breathe in some fresh air. I think we’re both feeling a bit underwater from tasks needing our attention. But with low energy, we can’t push ourselves. We can only do so much before resting again. It is what it is. We just want to get better so we can enter society again, and we will. Patience. Rest. Patience. Rest.

Anyway, thank you for stopping by and stay well!
This is the second lost weekend for us, so enjoy yours!
Go outdoors and mingle with Nature!

  1. In the beginning, the experts (?) used to say that almost every one will get Covid at one time or another. Well I got it in 2022. And you got it in 2023. Letโ€™s hope this is the only time you get it

  2. So glad you and hubby are slowly feeling better! In the last COVID onslaught, my wife took the brunt of it while I basically stayed inside but for doctors’ appointments. Now she’s in respite care while I heal up from carpal tunnel day surgery. It’s good you’re able to think positively—-positive thinking heals faster!

  3. Love your description on your Acrostic Poem and feel ya my friend. Itโ€™s a loooong haul this darn bug and I finally got a negative after 13 days but Iโ€™m Ty Ty. Keep taking good care and glad you have each other to keep each other company

    1. Thanks, Cindy. The first poem since Covid days. ๐Ÿ™‚ We’re still symptomatic and fatigued, but not as bad as in the beginning. He lost his sense of smell. I didn’t, but the fatigue and cough got me. We both have cold symptoms. It’s been one week since we got sick and I have a feeling another week is going to slip by before things look even brighter. Like for you, 13 days. Ugh! Anyway, yes, it’s nice to have company. The silver lining. ๐Ÿ™‚ Stay well, my friend. xo

  4. Perfect words, my dear friend and yes, “patience – rest – patience – rest” and stay positive… and get lots of c – d3 and zinc along with my healing ways! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

    1. I caught your waves, thanks, Marina! It’s been a week since we’ve been sick, and we feel a little better, but still fatigued with cold symptoms. I think it’s going to be slow. Ugh! But patience and we’re taking all the good stuff too. Have you had it yet? We managed to dodge the droplets all these years until now, and hopefully, our immune system will be stronger. Stay well and enjoy your week ahead. Love and hugs! xoxoxoxox

      1. You will feel better soon [if not already!]
No, we’ve dodged it all these years ๐Ÿคž, but we’re not particularly worried either from what we hear from friends who had it. Happy [virus free] Monday and week ahead!
more love and hugs your way!

  5. The poem states it all well. Please take care and be well soon. Keep moving so it moves through you fast. Thatโ€™s what Iโ€™ve heard has worked for people. โ™ฅ๏ธ

  6. Beautiful flowers and so sorry about both of you getting sick. That couldn’t have been easy. When I got covid, lemongrass tea helped a lot. Add some ginger, lemon and molasses (or sweetener of your choice) to it. It’ll really help get your energy back.

      1. You’re so welcome. It really helped us and hope it’ll make you feel better too. The worst part of covid is feeling really weak and low on energy. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

  7. Egads!
Covid is on the rise, again.
I know someone(s) every other week coming down with it.
Time to be a bit careful, again.
Glad to hear you’re on the mend!!!!!
A work associate of mine (in her 50’s) passed about 10 weeks ago from covid.

The Acrostic poem is very good, quite cool!
Just chill! Chores wait. Fab week ahead! xoxoxo

    1. Yikes, Resa, that is so sad! I assume she had other health issues? Weโ€™re both healthy and fully vaccinated, so itโ€™s been mild. Weโ€™re still in isolation and feeling a little better. But what we notice is that itโ€™s a subtle slow process of healing. Itโ€™s been one week and we might have one more to go. As long as we get better, thatโ€™s fine. This is our first time. Love together, play together, get sick together. ๐Ÿคง๐Ÿ˜ท๐Ÿ˜Stay well! โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ

    1. Thanks, Kamal, we’re still isolating and feel a little better but not fully. It’s a slow healing process. The fatigue is the worst. We’ve never had it before this, so we can’t complain. Stay safe too, my friend. xoxo

      1. You are always welcome dear Lauren. COVID drains you out but stay and recover for the days that they come. Soon you will be free and doing great. Take your medication on time. Yes fatigue is worse. All this too shall pass ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

    1. Thanks, Debby, and that’s what we’ve heard. This is our first time, but even though we tested positive yesterday again, I don’t think we’re contagious. The symptoms are lingering, but we’re getting there albeit slowly. ๐Ÿ™‚ Stay well! ๐Ÿฉท

  8. Nicely penned Lauren, showing us that we can make beautiful things from difficults times in life.
I hope you and your husband are feeling much better by now. Covid can be tough, living away from people and feeling bad too.
But looks like you still look at the positive of it – you’re together and nature keeps its promises to ease hard days.
Sending love to both and take care

    1. Thanks for your lovely comment, Marie. We still tested positive after 10 days, but I don’t think we’re contagious anymore which is good. Still feeling symptoms a little, but they may linger for a few more days which I’ve heard is normal. Anyway, we’re getting there. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for your love and good wishes. Take good care, my friend. Hugs xoxo
