Pink lines dictate rules for the near future with
Ominous news initially because of the unknown.
Scattered thoughts from this positive result of what will unfold –
Initiation after three and a half years of
Taking care of self and counting six feet from others.
Isolating from humans, but not from the warmth of nature.
Variant, new, old, irrelevant – time to buckle down while
Eager to enter into civilization once again.

A first time for everything, I suppose, and this is a first for hubby and me. It’s probably just as well we get Covid at the same time. But the worst part is over, fever and major fatigue. Now only mild symptoms that we have to plough through until we test negative. The sun is shining. The sky is bright and blue and lovely. We have our patio and backyard to visit nature and breathe in some fresh air. I think we’re both feeling a bit underwater from tasks needing our attention. But with low energy, we can’t push ourselves. We can only do so much before resting again. It is what it is. We just want to get better so we can enter society again, and we will. Patience. Rest. Patience. Rest.
Anyway, thank you for stopping by and stay well!
This is the second lost weekend for us, so enjoy yours!
Go outdoors and mingle with Nature! ๐ฉท

Thank you to those who have bought a copy and who have shared wonderful
reviews. My heart is full of gratitude. ๐
I hope it doesn’t drag on for both of you. I guess a couple that gets COVID together, stays together. or something like that. xo
We hope not either, Darlene. And LOL! My husband said something like that too, but I can’t recall what it was. ๐ xo
Oh darn! From the first couple lines, I was thinking maybe you were going to be a grandmother. Get well soon.
Sorry, Mary! That would’ve been better news to share. Thank you!
In the beginning, the experts (?) used to say that almost every one will get Covid at one time or another. Well I got it in 2022. And you got it in 2023. Letโs hope this is the only time you get it
True, Sadje, and let’s hope. ๐ Stay well, my friend.
You too. All the best
‘Positive’ was such an uplifting word till it got associated with Covid!! Still, sending you some positive vibes. ๐
I know, sorry to be sneaky, Balroop. Another friend thought it meant we were going to be grandparents. How one word can be so misleading. ๐ I appreciate the positive vibes. xo
I’m sorry to hear that you and your hubby have ended up with Covid. I hope you and he are well on your way to a full recovery.
Thanks so much, Liz. I just hope it doesn’t drag on.
You’re welcome, Lauren. Sending healing thoughts your way!
I hope you feel better soon.
Thanks so much, John. Hope so too. ๐
๐
The poem is very nice. Also, get well soon!
Thanks so much on both counts!
So glad you and hubby are slowly feeling better! In the last COVID onslaught, my wife took the brunt of it while I basically stayed inside but for doctors’ appointments. Now she’s in respite care while I heal up from carpal tunnel day surgery. It’s good you’re able to think positively—-positive thinking heals faster!
Thanks so much, Jonathan, and sorry to hear about your wife, but I hope she gets better real soon, and you too from your surgery. Yes, positive thinking helps. Take good care!
take good care—bet that back porch is a treasure!
It really is. ๐
Beautiful poem Lauren. What an endearing acrostic. ๐ฅฐ Get well soon my friend! ๐๐๐ผ๐ค
Thanks so much, Kym, on both counts. This is the first I’ve been able to write. ๐ I hope more words come as time heals. Stay well too my friend. ๐ฉท๐ค๐ฉท
Oh girlfriend, you are a writer and even COVID can’t keep those fingers from working your keyboard! LOL ๐ Sending you much love! ๐ฅฐ๐๐
You are sweet, Kym! Hugs again! xoxoxo
A beautiful poem and recording of this memory. Get better ๐๐
Thanks so much, Robbie. ๐ค๐
Looks like you are making the best of it. You’re almost through the worst of it now. Nice poem.
I hope it doesn’t drag out too long. Thanks, Anneli.
Love your description on your Acrostic Poem and feel ya my friend. Itโs a loooong haul this darn bug and I finally got a negative after 13 days but Iโm Ty Ty. Keep taking good care and glad you have each other to keep each other company
Thanks, Cindy. The first poem since Covid days. ๐ We’re still symptomatic and fatigued, but not as bad as in the beginning. He lost his sense of smell. I didn’t, but the fatigue and cough got me. We both have cold symptoms. It’s been one week since we got sick and I have a feeling another week is going to slip by before things look even brighter. Like for you, 13 days. Ugh! Anyway, yes, it’s nice to have company. The silver lining. ๐ Stay well, my friend. xo
Excellent
Perfect words, my dear friend and yes, “patience – rest – patience – rest” and stay positive… and get lots of c – d3 and zinc along with my healing ways! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
…waves! ๐
I caught your waves, thanks, Marina! It’s been a week since we’ve been sick, and we feel a little better, but still fatigued with cold symptoms. I think it’s going to be slow. Ugh! But patience and we’re taking all the good stuff too. Have you had it yet? We managed to dodge the droplets all these years until now, and hopefully, our immune system will be stronger. Stay well and enjoy your week ahead. Love and hugs! xoxoxoxox
You will feel better soon [if not already!]
No, we’ve dodged it all these years ๐ค, but we’re not particularly worried either from what we hear from friends who had it. Happy [virus free] Monday and week ahead!
more love and hugs your way!
xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
Covid is still really out there….be well Lauren
.praying for both of you๐โค๏ธ
They say it’s coming back, and we dodged it since its arrival until now. But we’re all vaccinated, so thankfully it’s been mild. Thanks, Mich. Stay well too! ๐ฉท
The poem states it all well. Please take care and be well soon. Keep moving so it moves through you fast. Thatโs what Iโve heard has worked for people. โฅ๏ธ
Thanks, Barbara. Our cases are mild, but the fatigue is no joke. Just have to ride it through. ๐
๐๐๐
Lauren, I hope you and your hubby feel better soon. โค๏ธ
Thanks so much, Eugi. ๐
My pleasure, Lauren!
A very clever way of articulating on your shared predicament, Lauren. Hoping each day finds your and hubby’s fatigue lifting. ๐
Thanks for your kind comment, Steve. Slowly but surely. ๐
๐๐ผ
Beautiful flowers and so sorry about both of you getting sick. That couldn’t have been easy. When I got covid, lemongrass tea helped a lot. Add some ginger, lemon and molasses (or sweetener of your choice) to it. It’ll really help get your energy back.
Thanks, Pooja, and I appreciate the tea suggestion. Anything to get the energy back, so we’ll try it. Wishing you a great ahead. xo
You’re so welcome. It really helped us and hope it’ll make you feel better too. The worst part of covid is feeling really weak and low on energy. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Thanks again, and youโre right about the fatigue. Itโs powerful. ๐ฉท
We had the same issue especially me, I was so weak even for a few weeks after testing negative. You’re very welcome.
I’m sorry to hear that, but I have heard that many have dealt with major fatigue. One day at a time. Sigh. Have a good week and stay well! xo
You too!
Egads!
Covid is on the rise, again.
I know someone(s) every other week coming down with it.
Time to be a bit careful, again.
Glad to hear you’re on the mend!!!!!
A work associate of mine (in her 50’s) passed about 10 weeks ago from covid.
The Acrostic poem is very good, quite cool!
Just chill! Chores wait. Fab week ahead! xoxoxo
Yikes, Resa, that is so sad! I assume she had other health issues? Weโre both healthy and fully vaccinated, so itโs been mild. Weโre still in isolation and feeling a little better. But what we notice is that itโs a subtle slow process of healing. Itโs been one week and we might have one more to go. As long as we get better, thatโs fine. This is our first time. Love together, play together, get sick together. ๐คง๐ท๐Stay well! โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ
Aww… S(t)ick together!
Love it.
Just get better! You need to write! โค๏ธ๐ท๐ฆ๐โค๏ธ
Slowly, but surelyโฆโค๏ธ๐ค๐ฅฐ๐
Seems that Covid has not affected your poetic skills. Lovely poem. Get well soon! โค
Hopefully it’ll be a mild case and you’ll both be soon better.
Hope you both are fine and in good health and recovered from COVID, Lauren. We too have not escaped this disease. Stay safe ๐๐ป๐๐ป
Thanks, Kamal, we’re still isolating and feel a little better but not fully. It’s a slow healing process. The fatigue is the worst. We’ve never had it before this, so we can’t complain. Stay safe too, my friend. xoxo
You are always welcome dear Lauren. COVID drains you out but stay and recover for the days that they come. Soon you will be free and doing great. Take your medication on time. Yes fatigue is worse. All this too shall pass ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป
Yes, it will pass. ๐ You rock, Kamal. Thank you! Hugs xoxoxo
You rock too Lauren. God bless. Love and hugs to you too ๐๐
A wonderfully delicate little poem, Lauren! I hope you both start to feel better soon and are on a good road to recovery. โค
Thanks for your beautiful words and wishes, Layla. xoxo
Arg! Feel better Lauren. I think a whole new round of new variant is on the loose. โค
Thanks, Debby, and that’s what we’ve heard. This is our first time, but even though we tested positive yesterday again, I don’t think we’re contagious. The symptoms are lingering, but we’re getting there albeit slowly. ๐ Stay well! ๐ฉท
You too! โค
Nicely penned Lauren, showing us that we can make beautiful things from difficults times in life.
I hope you and your husband are feeling much better by now. Covid can be tough, living away from people and feeling bad too.
But looks like you still look at the positive of it – you’re together and nature keeps its promises to ease hard days.
Sending love to both and take care
Thanks for your lovely comment, Marie. We still tested positive after 10 days, but I don’t think we’re contagious anymore which is good. Still feeling symptoms a little, but they may linger for a few more days which I’ve heard is normal. Anyway, we’re getting there. ๐ Thanks for your love and good wishes. Take good care, my friend. Hugs xoxo
You have a way to express your feeling. I admire your poem from heart and wish you a good health.๐
Thank you for your lovely comment and wishes. Greatly appreciated! ๐๐ป
