The duff was soft and easy
as I walked on the trail
The trees leaned in closer,
listening to my prayers
The wildflowers
continued to meditate
I searched for myself
along the way
sometimes with head
up to the sky
and the breeze
passing by –
walking at a pace
pleasant for turtles
I took my time
digging deeply inside
to discover my truth
but instead, I found you

Beautiful poem walking and talking to nature,
Seeking your truth.
Then …” finding you ” .
So sweet and unexpected

Thanks, John! I’m glad you liked this little walk with nature! 🙂
Reblogged this on John Cowgill's Literature Site.
Wow! Thanks, John! I’m truly flattered and humbled. Have a good weekend ahead!
You are very graciously welcome. YOU have an exceptional weekend.
Beautifully expressed Lauren as usual. I could see it all as you made your journey, and your discovery at the end. 🙂
Thanks very much, Ian. Your feedback always means a lot, since you’re a wonderful writer! 🙂
What a refreshing walk through all your lovely images, Lauren. Uplifting breath of fresh air. 💓 (Love that photo of the wildflowers too. Perfect!) Hugs to you. 💕💕🌼
Thanks, Betty! I’m glad you joined me on the trail. Actually, wouldn’t it be fun to go for a walk together? If only we lived closer. 🙂 I can’t go anywhere without clicking away, so those wildflowers came in handy. Hugs to you, too, and have a good evening! 🌷💜🌷💜
Ah, yes – what fun that’d be if we lived closer and could go for that walk! If you should ever be traveling up this way, we’ll have to try to get together. Hugs back to you, and happy weekend! 🌼❤️🌸💮😄💕
I’ve thought of the same thing if you’re ever near San Fran. 🙂 It would be great to meet in person. Aww, it’s Friday, so happy, as always! Enjoy your evening, too! ❤🎆🎇🎆🎇😀
Thank you! 😄❤️💕🌸

It’s nice to be able to commune with nature.
It sure is! 😊
Love how the trees are leaning closer and that the wildflowers meditate! It feels exactly like this when we’re close to nature, doesn’t it? And what a lovely little twist at the end of your delightful poem, Lauren! 😄💖💖💖
Thanks so much, Sarah! Those visuals do bring us closer to nature, as you said. Your words are a great ending to my Friday, so thank you! Wishing you a fabulous weekend ahead, my friend! 💜💙💚🧡😍
Great poem, i can just imagine the walker as myself. Lost in thought but still aware of the surroundings. Love the ending.
Thanks so much, Alison! That’s exactly how I felt, too, while in the moment. Happy weekend!
What a beautiful poem, Lauren.
Thanks, Audrey! I’m glad you enjoyed this walk among the trees and wildflowers. 🌼🌷🏵🌸
A beautiful delightful writing Lauren, I love the ending where you introduced Love into the imagery.
Kindest regards.
Thanks so much, Ian, for your lovely comment. I’m happy you enjoyed this walk with nature. And thanks for all your comments! 🙂 I always love reading your insightful feedback.
This is every bit the refreshing poem, Lauren. It reads so peacefuly, each line blending into each other like how the different parts of nature – sky, ground, hills – all blend together nicely to make this beautiful world what it is. I love how you ended the poem: not just focusing on yourself, but also letting yourself open up to the world around you and someone finding you 🙂
Thanks so much, Mabel, for your intuitive comment. I love what you wrote about the sky, ground, and hills all blending together nicely to make this beautiful world. So true and well said! The ending came out of the blue and can really mean a number of things. It’s all about the perception and understanding of the reader. Thanks again, and have a wonderful weekend! 💕🌼
So the ending came out of the blue…that is just like how many of us find someone – we don’t expect it and then you just fall into step with each other 💕 Or we found something that we were looking for all along. You have a wonderful week ahead 🙂
Exactly, Mabel! Wishing you a great week, too! 🙂
I felt the breath of fresh air within your words dear Lauren.. and the love of companionship of one who is listening.. ❤
What a lovely thing to say, Sue, thank you! Hope you’re having a good Saturday, my friend. Sending hugs! 💗💗
Thank you, late into the evening now.. Dark outside.. In the cool of the humid evening,, I had a lovely day.. Relaxing, while seeming to do many things at the same time.. LOL.. HUGS right back at you ❤
Glad you had a productive but relaxing day. I enjoyed taking my daughter out for brunch, then some shopping. Now we’re all home just trying to stay cool. It’s another hot day today and muggier, too. xo
Yes I think this weather may well be something we have to adapt to in the future.. Winter on the other hand may be harsher..
Oooops.. meant also to say, so pleased you had a beautiful time with your daughter, sending her lots of energy and love xx
Aww, thanks a bunch, Sue! Enjoy your evening! 💗🌸💗🌸
