First of all, our little finch family has flown for good. It wasn’t long after the babies had hatched that the whole family had soon left. In our minds, it happened so fast, and unfortunately, we weren’t able to say good-bye. Well, it was fun watching the process – first time for everything, and now that Mr. & Mrs. Finch know our house is a safe haven, they just might return if they decide to grow their family. 🙂
Secondly, my husband and I are leaving this weekend for a camping adventure. It’ll be fun to get away, to immerse in some relaxation, hiking, and swimming. We both love time spent in the mountains, among the freshwater lakes and majestic pines. There’s just something special about that mountain air! Needless to say, I won’t be blogging, but I’ll return later next week. And for fun, I’m sharing some photos that may bring a smile…
Copper’s having fun, but who’s winning?
What a beautiful, fluffy, summer sky!
Finally, a sunflower bud, so we’re still eager for the blooms.
On a walk with Copper, look who we saw prancing!
And these flowers popped out, too. Just lovely and friendly,
don’t you think?
I plan to do some blog-reading until we leave; otherwise, I’ll see you when I return to city life and technology. Until then, take care and stay safe. Lauren 🌼❤🌻
Lauren, have a wonderful adventure and immerse yourself in the gifts of the mountain! I’m off in just over a week but posting once or twice before the long sourjoun in Sweden! I love your pics … amazing to see the deer in town and the flowers are delightful! I love these kind but the poor mites see me and whither … in order to be kind to the floral kingdom I forgoe buying them myself! Happy Camping! ⛺️ 🏊🌺🌻 👒🦋🌳
Thanks, Annika, and I love how you phrased it, “gifts of the mountain” – So true! You have a wonderful time, too, and relax a bit. I think you deserve it! I’m glad you enjoyed my pics, but you made me smile about your relationship with flowers. 🙂 Cheers, my friend, and have a fabulous weekend! ❤🌼🌻🌷😊

Thanks so much, John, for your kind words. By the way, I haven’t seen any posts from you lately, so I hope you’re taking a break and it’s not another WP glitch. 🙂 Much love to you, too, and enjoy your Saturday!

Lovely post, Lauren. Cute fawn
Thanks, John, and that fawn was a cute surprise, except then Copper goes a little crazy. 🙂
Of course, Copper does.
Three cheers for the Finch family! Have a wonderful vacation Lauren, looking forward to some more pictures and poetry that you would write in the lap of Mother Nature. 🙂
Thanks, Balroop! They sure were entertaining, and I love your words, “write in the lap of Mother Nature.” True words of a poet. 🙂 Enjoy your weekend, too! 💗
Have a wonderful, enjoyable trip, Lauren! Hope you return refreshed and rejuvenated. 😊 Will miss you! Love and hugs to you. ❤️💕💞😍🌹
Thanks, Betty! We’re just about ready and are leaving tomorrow. It’ll be nice to be in the mountain air. and I’m ready for a vacation, even though camping’s not a vacation until everything’s set up. 🙂 But then it’s relaxing and there is a beautiful lake for swimming that we’ll enjoy. Anyway, I’ll miss you, too, but stay well, my friend. Hope book sales are going well, also! Love and hugs back! ❤🌸😍💜🌹
Sounds wonderful – have fun!! 😎❤️❤️
❤💚💙💜😍😍
Be sure to have a good time. 🙂
We will do our best. Thanks, Ben! Take care, too! 🙂
That’s the plan. 🙂
Nice to get away from any city for a hike in the mountains and breathe fresh air for a change. Have a great time. 🙂
It sure is, Ian, and now we’re back into the routine. Thanks for your wishes, and we’re going again next month, then a hotel get-away at the beach in the fall. 🙂 Have a good weekend!
Rest assured, the little chicks will grow and one day, return to the nest of their birth for another visit, well at least my birds return through generations, think it must be the security and food.
Thanks, Ian! We’ll watch for them, and it sure would be nice to have them visit again. 🙂
Have a fabulous time in the mountains, Lauren! Ah, swimming in icy cold mountain lakes is so much fun in summer! Enjoy! 😄 And thanks for sharing these lovely photos – that deer’s so enchanting! And yay to the sunflower bud! Happy Camping! 😄💕🐶🌲🌼
Thanks, Sarah! It’s been so hot and muggy here that the lake will feel SO good! I’m glad you enjoyed the photos and I knew the deer would be a favorite. And yes, it’s so exciting to see the sunflower buds, but can’t wait to see some color. Take care, my friend…💕🌻🌷
Enjoy your break x Looking forward to hearing about it soon. Lucky you seeing Rudolph in the middle of summer.
Thanks, Alison! It was great and now we’re back. We have another trip planned in August, then some luxury at the beach in the fall. I can rough it, but a hotel room is a welcomed change. 🙂 We see deer around here all the time. It’s neat to see them, but it’s also kind of sad because they’re coming down the hill more and more for food and water. Things are changing. ❤
Glad you had a good time. Seeing Deer must be quite special even if its a regular thing and yes sad that changes are around us.
💕
Enjoy your little getaway Lauren. ❤
Thanks, Debby, I did, and now I’m back. 🙂 ❤
Welcome back! 🙂 ❤
Oooooo.. Loved the shots! So gorgeous!❤
Aww, thanks so much, Richa! Glad you enjoyed this bit of randomness. 🙂 💕
Wonderful photos, Lauren, a pleasure to see. I especially love clouds and your shot of buttermilk clouds makes me want to reach up and grab a handful. Then that adorable fawn – I bet mama was close by. Glad you had a lovely respite in the cooler mountains. Not sure where you are, but it’s sweltering here in Southern California, and not even August yet.
Thanks for your wonderful comment, Sharon, and for your visits today. I’m in the bay area, northern Cal., but I’m a so. Cal. girl, raised all my life. I met my husband while down there, then about 20 years ago we moved up here to be near his family. My parents are both gone now, but I still have sisters in Orange and Riverside County. So, I feel your pain. 🙂 Do you have a/c? At least my sisters have ac and a pool to keep cool. When we have heat waves up here without ac, it’s pretty yucky. But we survive. Anyway, thanks again! 🌼🌼
No AC – have meant for more than 30 years to put it in, but never managed to do so. So I find excuses to wander around the mall and the grocery store every day. I see you don’t have AC either. Blech!
BTW, we live in Orange County, and have a son who lives a bit south of San Francisco. Cal is a big state but we’re all connected, right?
Ugh, well, yes, mall, store, even just driving around in the car with the ac on helps a little. How funny that we’re connected in that way. You’re right, Cal is a big state, but in some ways, it’s a small, small world. 🙂 You mentioned south of S.F.? We’re in Marin County which is about 30 min. south…
