Delivery

when vowels
and consonants join
forces, they
create a
magnetic effect so strong
grips will not loosen

their union
paints a gold sunrise
yet, they have
what it takes
to produce sharp, knife-like pain
be mindful of both

  1. Loving your shadorma BTW and while what I drew from it has given a birth, a life and a fruit of its own it remains and should remain a genuine comment upon the force of “Delivery”.

In addition within the near proximity of the words “delivery” and “born” I spy the seed of further fruitings though whether you, I or no one at all will be drawn to take that road only time will tell.

    1. Thanks, Ben, and I didn’t think anything of your shadorma other than it was a wonderful comment and addition to mine. In fact, it did inspire me:

      Constants from
      the circle of life
      deathโ€™s timing
      birthโ€™s lighting
      new seeds bearing sanguine hues
      consolation prize

    1. Yes, I agree with you, Maureen, and well said! I was thinking the other day how much they can lift us up, but also how easily they can deflate us. Hence, giving me inspiration for this poem. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ’—

    1. Thanks, Betty, I’m glad you enjoyed this. I was thinking about words lately and how they can heal or hurt, and then became inspired. Have a good day! ๐Ÿ’—

  2. Words conjoined can bring forth love, but can also give rise to conflict.
Beware of those who think nought of the effects of words, giving rise to malice of intent.
Precise words you have written, giving rise to many meanings and interpretations.
    Cheers.

    1. Thanks, Michelle, your encouraging “words” are always appreciated. You’d think that as we get older, words would stop hurting, but that isn’t often the case. Age is but a number…
I’m glad you enjoyed this shadorma – one more to go for November. ๐Ÿ™‚ Love and hugs to you, and have a wonderful Wednesday, too. xo

  3. Lauren, this is wonderfully written and also full of truth. Words have a great power and impact on us all…to soothe and comfort, to hurt beyond repair…use wisely indeed!

    1. Thanks for your wonderful thoughts, Annika. It’s amazing how fast words fall out, too, when they should’ve been cemented in. ๐Ÿ™‚ Love and hugs to you, my friend…

  4. It sometimes terrifying how much power there is in words, isn’t it? They can let love grow or die, unite or separate, all by merely stringing together consonants and vowels… xoxo

    1. Thanks for checking it out, Sue. I normally don’t do that anymore on others’ blogs (don’t want to steal their thunder), but it seemed to fit well, so I hope you don’t mind. ๐Ÿ™‚ Love and hugs xoxo
