Happy Birthday, Honey! ♥

I’m wishing my Husband a wonderful Birthday today
and many more years of happiness with
the kids and I.
Below, is one of my favorites I wrote for him last December~

Cloud 9

Can you believe we’re “you and I?”
I’m still amazed that you’re my guy
How you fell in love with me
and how we came to be
I’ll never know just what I said
what I did to make you trip
I’m just glad I caught you then,
Do you remember when…
We danced all night and closed the doors
You held me tight and I was yours
The music stopped; our hearts kept beat
The tempo followed our graceful feet
You gently swept me off the floor
and I kept going back for more
Your loving whispers melted me
Our kiss good night lifted me
to a place I never thought I’d find
I’m finally where I want to be…
A lovely view
from the divine cloud nine

I re-blogged this, then deleted it
and honestly, wasn’t sure if that was correct
or if copying it this way is the right way~ 🙂

A quick “hello”

Hello Everyone,

I won’t be blogging again until next week…
My family has been with my Dad and sisters for support and
to plan my Mom’s service for this Saturday.
I’m sure you can imagine how it’s been emotional
and heartbreaking, especially seeing my Dad cry.
When we hear him tell old friends that he lost his gal…

I’m at a loss for words after reading your beautiful thoughts,
but, thank you all so much for your prayers and love.
I’m also sorry to be missing your wonderful writing and
posts and unfortunately, I won’t be able to catch up, but please know
that you have been missed, as well.  I will do my best to respond
when I return~

My Mom, at 90, was truly happy that I started this poetry blog,
so her happiness will be with me forever.

A Big “Thank you” and Blessings to you all
and I hope you’re all doing well~
Lauren

MORNING

A little past dawn
Light invites itself
streaming through
the window
Feeling the stare
my eyes open
only to realize
night has bid farewell
Dreading
getting out of bed
and the biting cold
when toes touch the floor
I pull the covers over my head
Bodies warm and cozy
A duet, all snuggly
lying next to my hubby
Daybreak can wait
I’m not willing
to greet
the chilling
hour
just yet

Happy Friday the 13th (and misc)

Oh the woes of being sick

Oh the woes of a runny nose

Oh the woes of constant sneezing

Well, I guess that’s how it goes!

Hi Everyone,

My family and I have been sick this week,
so, I’ve been trying to read your wonderful posts,
along with juggling work and family life,
and trying to get healthy again.

Anyway, from LScott to You,
Happy Friday the 13th!

🙂 🙂
