Bio

Welcome to BaydreamerWrites where I share my writing and news about my upcoming books. A poet, memoirist, children’s book author and fiction writer, I enjoy small-town living in Northern California with my husband, Matt, of thirty-seven years. Our son and daughter live out of state, but with frequent visits and technology, our family of four remains close.

I have published four poetry collections: New Day, New Dreams, Finding a Balance, Ever So Gently, and King Copper: Our dog’s life in poetry, which is a special tribute to my family’s beloved Copper who crossed over the Rainbow Bridge in March 2025. In 2021, I released my memoir, More than Coffee in verse and prose. My first children’s book, Cora’s Quest, was released in December 2024.

I am a recent Pushcart Nominee and have been a guest on several podcasts. My writing is featured on Spillwords Press where I was voted Author of the Month and garnered Publication of the Month awards. My work has also been featured on Gobblers and Masticadores. I am a contributing author in several anthologies: Poetry Treasures 2: Relationships, This is How We Grow, Petals of Haiku, and Tranquility: An Anthology of Haiku. My muse discovers inspiration from my family, spending time in the great outdoors, reveling in simple things, and marveling at the mysteries of life.

Thank you for stopping by!

  8. Hi Lauren: I wanted to let you know that I posted a review for your book on Amazon and it will also be my blog post tomorrow. I included a link to your blog as well as a link to purchase it at B and N and on Amazon. Beth

  9. hi Lauren – I brought my copy of your book to read to the class after they finished up with the bakery yesterday, but they were all taken home by their parents right after, expect for one child. I read it to him and he really enjoyed it and I took a picture of him with the book but don’t think this will really serve your purposes. I wasn’t expecting them to all leave right after, sorry.

P.S. If you’d like the one, I’d be happy to share it with you –

    1. Hi Beth, I think I’ll pass on the photo. If the whole class was in it, it would be better like you said. I appreciate you trying though, along with your wonderful review and support. I’m doing a book fair this Saturday for Cora, so wish me luck. 🙂 I hope you had a lovely Mother’s Day. 💕

  10. Hello lovely Lauren, your re-vamped website looks fab. I love the photos. Your header is beautiful, and the one on your Bio from the recent book fair is perfect. You look so happy. A lovely Bio too. You are you, and you always write from your heart, which is loving and beautiful. Go, lovely Lauren. Xxx 🩷😘🦋🌸🩷

    1. Aww, Jane, your lovely words made for a great start to my work week after the long weekend. Thanks so much on all counts! I’m glad my effort worked because tech stuff can be challenging. 🙂 Thanks again, and sending you lots of love and hugs! xoxo 💝🌷😎❤️🤗
