Mother’s Day Limericks ๐ŸŒท

A rose for all the special moms!

I’m replicating my post from last year…It’s limerick time, and this collection was fun to work on, although a couple are more factual and not so delightful. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy!

Unselfish

She is a classy, lovely mother
Who puts herself last behind others
Their care comes first
Health, hunger, or thirst
They love her โ€“ daughter and brother.

Summer

How special to become a mother
Devoted but not to smother
To love and raise
Till the end of her days
Mothers are the essence of summer!

Special Day

The special day comes every year
But not all hold their mothers dear
Words criticize
Make tears leak from eyes
Sad those hearts didnโ€™t hold their babes near

Smiles and Giggles

What a miracle to be a mom
Caring for babes with a heart of calm
Relish in their smiles
Giggles heard for miles
Music to a motherโ€™s ear, a balm.

Not Fragile

Mothers are an exceptional class
Their work ethic no one can surpass
Cooking and cleaning
Diapering and weaning
They’re strong, not fragile like glass!

Warrior Soul

Caring for her children is her role
Keeping them safe and happy is her goal
A multitasker
Sought after
Her skills are plenty, a warrior soul!

DNA

DNA does not a mother make
DNA may produce a mother fake
Who only thinks of herself
Babyโ€™s needs on the shelf
Babyโ€™s life unimportant and at stake.

Flair

A motherโ€™s talents are exhaustible
But clearly, they’re not implausible
Many balls in the air
She juggles with flair
Her demeanor is surely laudable!

Golden Worth

A motherโ€™s love comes from her heart
That blooms and glows from the start
Cradling at birth
A golden worth
Sheโ€™ll give her All to do her part!

  1. A great collection of mom limericks. Loved many lines but two of my favorite: Mothers are the essence of summer and What a miracle to be a mom. Have a Happy Mother’s day, Lauren, with your son at home. โค

      1. Yeah, I have one nephew who’s adopted, too. So, I’m a “Tita” to him by heart.

        You’re always welcome, Lauren.

  2. Hello Lauren! I hope you had a great Mother’s Day celebration!

I love them all – and especially “Warrior Soul” ๐ŸŒบ๐ŸŒป It’s one I can relate too.

    Wishing you a great week.

    1. I really did, Dawn. Our son is visiting from CO. so it was nice to have at least one of our adult ‘kids’ home. We celebrated with our daughter via phone from TN. Hope you had a wonderful day too! ๐Ÿ’ž

  3. Great limericks, Lauren! I hope you had a lovely Mother’s Day!

And I apologize for not keeping up with your blog… I’m almost caught up from a very hectic month and a bit and look forward to reading your posts again.

    1. Thanks so much, Steve, and I had a great day! I hope your wife did too! ๐Ÿ™‚ No apologies necessary. I’ve also been absent. It’s amazing how the blogging world just keeps spinning regardless of what else is happening in life! It’s great to see you again though! ๐Ÿค—

  4. Gee, the Mother’s Days come and go… so fast.

I love all your limericks, and seem to remember them.

Time someone wrote one for you!

    THE LOVE GARDEN

    I know a Lauren, a poet

Her rhymes and metaphors show it.

    She scribbles and scribes

    And wanders with vibes

Of love, then she grows it!

    1. They sure do, Resa! I can’t believe we’re already in mid May and my son’s May birthday has come and gone. Sheesh! But, OMG, I love your limerick! No one has done that before so thank you with Big hugs! Love, love it! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
