I’ve never seen him act this way
So listless rivalled to fun-filled days
Head hangs low with each new step
Where is his happy, bouncy pep?
Pacing round and round the room
Sunshine doesn’t fade the gloom
Seeking comfort with a whine
His distress infects my mind
He tucks his body in real tight
Leaning on my feet, he might
Those amber eyes touch my soul
Emotions begin to lose control
I’ll care for him until the day
He romps around, eager to play
His floppy ears will tell me so
My love for him will overflow
Our Copper Boy has been sick all week and
it’s been heart-wrenching to see him not feeling well.
This is a first for him in his almost eleven years.

My prayers are that Cooper gets better. So sorry Cooper is ill.
Thanks, John. Your prayers and wishes are greatly appreciated. I think he’s on the mend, but it’s been a slow recovery and one heck of a week. ❤️
I’ll bet. I just hate it when our fur babies don’t feel well. Lucy just got over a bout of pancreatitis.
Oh my, John, pancreatitis is scary enough in humans. I can’t imagine how Lucy felt. I’m glad she’s better. Copper’s better but it’s a slow recovery. A little stressful, to say the least. Take good care of your fur babies.
It is too scary for sure. Lucky we have some medicine that works quickly.
That’s good, John…
What a lovely way to express your love for your cherished family member!
Thank you,
Joanna
Thank you for your beautiful words, Joanna. Our pets become family so when they’re sick, it’s heartbreaking. I think he’s on the mend, but we’re taking it one day at a time. 💕
Yes our pets are definitely members of the family and our love for them is deep
I can see you understand completely. Thanks, Ian.
Oh no… I hope Cooper gets well soon. This was such a sweet poem your wrote for him. I love your affection for him. Stay blessed my dear.❤️❤️
Aww, thanks, Diana, for your lovely words. He’s my third child. 🙂 He’s slowly recovering though, but we still have a few days ahead of us to monitor him. Take care. 💗💗💗
He WILL get better, my dear Lauren, floppy ears will tell you so!!!! My thoughts, positive waves and love, with you …and Hera’s slobbery kisses too! xoxoxoxoxoxo
Thanks, Marina. He’s finally showing more energy and those ears are a sure sign. But he’s not 100% himself yet. A few more days of monitoring and bland food before he should be back to normal. Last week felt like a month! When he feels better, he’ll send slobbery kisses to Hera! 🙂 Hugs to you, dear friend, and please take care and stay safe. ❤️❤️❤️
I certainly hope you can figure out what’s wrong with him and he can get better soon.
He’s been to Pet ER and the vet and now he’s slowly recovering. But it’s been stressful watching him suffer in pain. The pain has dissipated though which is a relief. Thanks for your well wishes, Binky.
Well that’s good news. Hopefully he will be back to normal soon.
Thanks, Binky. We hope so too.
Love and prayers…
Thanks, Bette. 💗
I’m so sorry Lauren. Sending hugs your way for you and Copper ❤
Thanks, Debby. Copper and I appreciate the hugs. 💕
