Winter’s Gift

fireplace-edited

The colors mesmerize
They dance across your face

Flames conduct a jazz recital
My heartbeat meets their pace

Your eyes gaze at me
With a hunger that feeds
You touch with your thoughts
Fulfilling all needs

Wrap me in your warmth
With soul, body, and mind
Touch my lips so gently
To taste the sweet, sweet wine

  1. Lauren, a mesmerising poem and I’m glad you chose to revise and share it here! From the ordinary of a fireplace, you quickly captivate the reader with the incredible love and closeness between the two! Just wonderful and I particularly love the line ‘Flames conduct a jazz recital’ – a terrific image! Keeping sharing your poetry, please!!πŸ˜€
