I stare at this page,
milk white as the
blanketed ground
in winter’s staging.
Where are the syllables
to create
a mixture of magic?
I fear they have flown
to faraway places,
across desert dunes
and boundless oceans
and might not return
so that I may tell him
(again)
how irreplaceable he is.
Instead,
I’ll touch his lips
with mine
and steady myself
in the arms of a man
who is satisfied
with my simple existence.
Romantic musings from years ago for this Monday…
Wishing you a peaceful day.
Lauren xo
Yes isn’t it wonderful to love a man who doesn’t expect miracles from you. Nice that you can put it into such poetic form
It sure is, thanks, Barbara!
Our existence has become a lot simpler lately.
But the world has become more complicated…thanks for popping in, Binky!
Lauren you are blessed beyond words to feel that way. Your man must be very special. Lovely poem x
Thanks so much, Allison. I don’t take him for granted even after 31 years. And he is pretty special if I can say so. 🙂 Hope all is well. ❤
I hope these romantic musings from years ago are still current. Lovely Lauren.
They sure are, John, after 31 years, we still like and love each other. 🙂 Thank you for your kind complement!
😊
Lovely. Isn’t it wonderful when we are accepted for ourselves?
Thanks, Janis, and yes, it is. xo
This is beautifully expressed, Lauren! So romantic. 🙂
(I’m behind reading again, alas! Hope all is well with you and yours. Hugs 🤗❤ )
Thanks, Betty. You know me and romance. 🙂 Don’t worry about staying caught up, but it’s always great to see you here. All is well, too. Sending hugs and love. 😍
Beautiful, Lauren. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Jill! Have a nice evening!
Lovely, Lauren…
Thanks so much, Bette! 😊
In today’s sick world it’s great to know there is still love and respect from both sides of the marriage relationship to be found. 🙂
What a lovely thing to “say” Ian and I agree. We have to focus on the joyful parts of life so we can make it through the tough times.
I can understand those sentiments so well Lauren… when somebody becomes irreplaceable, no blessing is greater than that. 🙂 Thanks for sharing your lovely words.
Exactly, Balroop, and thank you for your beautiful comment. 🌻
Oh, Lauren, this is so beautiful and romantic…
xoxo
Aww, thanks, Marina! Sending hugs, my friend! xo

Good to see you here again Lauren and what a lovely post.😊
Thanks, Geraldine. It’s funny how I didn’t think I’d return, but you just never know…hope all is well with you in these crazy times. xo
Sometimes actions are more potent than words!
Agreed. Thanks for stopping by, Merril!
Aaah. How absolutely lovely, Lauren. This one had me sighing with its peaceful romance. Beautiful. ❤

Hi Lauren, I also began reading the comments and I get it “…we still like and love each other.” My husband and I, 44 years, this June, and yes, “like and love.” My version of the story. 🙂
Your poem, beautiful! Tears brimming. I also, get it. “How irreplaceable he is” “with my simple existence”. I could not ask for more. ❤️
Erica, thank you so much for your wonderful comment! And I’m so happy to read you and your hubby have a similar story, 44 years, wow! Can’t wait until we’re there! 🙂
I agree with you, what more could we ask for? Thanks again and have a great weekend! 💗💗
A lovely nod to the man in your life. Stay blessed ❤
Thanks so much, Debby! Hugs 💕

31 years later… Same here. 🤗
