🙂
Love to take tea with you Lauren, I take no sugar either 😀 Have a wonderful Wednesday
That would be fun, Sue. 🙂 I hope your Wednesday has been good, too! xo
🙂 it was, I was playing builders mate to hubby 🙂 lol.. laying a couple of new floor boards 🙂 xxx
😊❤️
Nothing like a nice cup of tea to perk one up, I reckon.
Lisa does not take sugar – as she is sweet enough. Many years ago, she convinced me that I too had enough sugar to last me a life time. We both don’t sugar. LOL!
Tea certainly doesn’t hurt. 🙂 It sounds like you’re lucky to have Lisa in your life. Keep heeding her advice. 🙂
I think some chocolate would perk up that party.
Chocolate helps with anything, Binky!
Beautifully penned Lauren, every thing always looks better and more appetizing on an Aunts favorite China.
Thanks, Ian, and yes, setting the table with family dinnerware is the best finishing touch. Thanks for chiming in, and have a wonderful day!
Ahhh…Lauren, such a pretty picture and verse. There is something magical about a proper afternoon tea…an invitation for secrets to be revealed, worrying about the uninvited sorrow, though. Xx
Thanks so much, Annika. It is a soothing thought, isn’t it? It’s too bad many of us can’t gather for an afternoon someday for a spot of tea and delicious cookies. I think it would be such fun. I like what you said about secrets to be revealed, and yes, sometimes sorrow wiggles in, too. ❤
Lauren, this is lovely, except I keep wondering about the sad note it ends on. I too, take my tea unsweetened. Why spoil a lovely taste with sugar? Hugs. xoxo
Thanks so much, Michelle. I just mentioned to Annika that it would be such fun if many of us could gather for tea and cookies. 🙂 During a somber moment, I became inspired, and so this poem was born. I can’t really go into the “why” here, though, but email is good if you’d like to “talk” more…thanks again for your lovely comment. Sending hugs 💕
p.s. I agree about the tea and sugar. 🙂
I always enjoy talking with you, Lauren. I’ll message my info to you on FB.
I confirmed, Michelle. 🙂 xo
May there be more teas in the future, including better ones. 🙂
Thanks, Ben. I know there will be. 🙂
No sugar in my tea (or coffee) here. I’ll join you for a cuppa any day 🙂
I think it’s unanimous about skipping the sugar, and getting together for a cuppa would be awesome, Christy. 🙂
A poignant tea with “sorrow invites itself”. That line stands out for me and “flavors” your poem with added depth.
I must add, the cookies look delicious. Indeed, no sugar needed in tea either. Dunking the cookies is quite enough, if I may. 🙂 ❣️
Thanks for your comment, Betty. You’re right, there was more to the “tea” than the tea itself and even the cookies. One little moment can inspire, and of course, you can dunk. 🙂 💕
Thank you, glad we can be so informal. 🙂
Again, very eloquent writing, Lauren. The sublety – between the lines – gives it power.
Yes I vote for the chocolate too. 🙂
I’m sure many would, Ian. 🙂
A very lovely picture and poem, Lauren. The sad mingles so subtly in it. I admit to take sugar in my tea! Lol! Not with green tea though. 😊 There’s sometimes nothing better than enjoying a cuppa with some delicious cookies, it kind of vitalizes the soul and mind. Hugs&love! 💕
Thanks so much, Sarah! It’s okay to take sugar in your tea, too. I use it for my coffee. 😀 And yes, what is better than tea and cookies? I actually love cookies too much. I wish they could be a staple in my daily meals. Sending much love to you! 💗🍪☕🌻😀
