Dear Orange,
I am…
Overwhelmed jubilantly by your
Radiance relieving uncertainty
Along the path of unknowns
Not once drifting off-course
Giving unselfishly of your essence
Emotions shift in your presence
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh, how you delight with your happy state
Reliable in your everlasting contribution
Awe is a natural reaction
Never taken for granted
Growing from your vibrant message
Effervescent way of spirit-lifting
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I…
Observe soft petals that grin
Raining positivity on passersby
Ambience to daily reside in
Noise silenced so peace becomes the
Glue for a healthy well-being
Elixir from nature’s gift basket of magic
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Do you have a favorite? The 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, or all 3? 😊
Does ‘orange’ make you feel the same?
If not, what is your spirit-lifting color? 🧡
Thanks for gifting me with your presence today,
and please keep the families affected by the
Texas tragedy in your hearts. ❤️
I liked all three and am impressed by the orange blossoms.Thanks for sharing, Lauren.
I’m so glad, John, thank you! And I just love the orange blooms. The more vibrant, the more gorgeous! 🧡😊
😊
Brilliantly told.
Thanks, Jacqui! That’s kind of you to ‘say’! 🧡
Beautifully done, lovely Lauren and I love all three. Orange is the colour of joy. There is much joy in your words. Xxx 🧡🧡
Thanks so much, Jane! I’m happy you love the color orange too. Sending hugs, my friend 🧡🥰🧡
I like the second one the best, because I’ve been drawn to orange in the last couple of years, as that is how it makes me feel –
Thanks for letting me know your favorite, Beth. The last few years, orange became more appealing to me too. As much as I love pinks and purples, they’ve dropped down the list, while more vibrant colors like orange, red, and yellow have risen to the top. 🙂 I’m glad my words resonated. 🧡
my very favorite is green, and yellow next, but orange had become important, isn’t it interesting how color takes such an important place in our lives ?
It is interesting, and I also love blues and greens. I think pinks and purples have lost their appeal, although some are still beautiful like in flowers and pinks in sunrises and sunsets. 🌅🥰
Lauren – wonderful!! Your beautiful ode to orange is a symphony of light and joy! 🍊 Each acrostic flows with such intention, and I found myself smiling with every line—especially “Ambience to daily reside in” and “Effervescent way of spirit-lifting.” Your words remind me that colour is more than pigment—it’s emotion, energy, and presence. Thank you for bringing so much warmth into today.
“Symphony of light and joy” What a beautiful description, Rebecca. Thanks so much! And I love your takeaway that color represents emotion, energy, and presence. Exactly how I feel! I’m so glad you loved this ode to orange! Hugs 🧡
All three verses are great, Lauren. Great idea to do this anacrostic poem.
Thanks so much, Anneli! I’m glad you liked all three! It’s been a while since I write this form, so these were fun to work on. 🧡
It’s always fun to try something different.
Definitely! It’s good for the brain! 🙂
I like all three!
That’s wonderful! Thanks, Elizabeth! 🧡
I appreciate each and every one of them. I LOVE the first!
Thanks so much, Annette! Your words make my day! I love reading which verses mean the most to everyone. 🧡
Love all of your monochromatic photos Lauren! Your acrostic poems complement these images superbly my friend! 🧡💐🧡
I’m so happy you loved the pics and poems, Kym! Thanks, my friend! Orange deserved to be in the spotlight! 🙂 🧡🤗🍊
And honey Lauren, you worked the O to the E! 🧡🧡🧡
🥰😁🍑🍑🍑🧡🧡🧡
They are all three wonderful, Lauren, but if I had to choose, I would pick #1. Love it!
Thanks, Jan! I’m happy you liked all three, but I love knowing which one stands out. 🧡🤗
VERY clever and evocative, Lauren! I enjoyed all three; perhaps the third was my slight favorite.
Thanks so much, Dave! I appreciate your kind words! And I love to find out which verse stands out for everyone. So far, each has received attention. 😊
I love #2 with all of the flowers clustered together. And the orange = sunniness, happiness, brightness.
Thanks so much, Dawn! I’m glad you’re an orange fan too! 🧡
Beautiful photos and poems to honor orange, Lauren. I like all three of them and as for my color it would have to be blue or purple 🙂
Thanks a bunch, Denise, and blue is one of my favorites too. Thanks for sharing your faves too! They’re all beautiful in their own ways! 🙂 🧡
1, 2, 3 love them all.
So beautifully penned to match your images and bursting with flavour 🧡
Thank you Lauren xoxox
Wonderful, thanks, Maggie! Another orange admirer! 🙂 I appreciate your lovely words, my friend! And I hope you had ‘an orange’ kind of day! 🥰🧡🤗💫
I did enjoy the vibrancy Lauren.🧡
It is my pleasure always.
Yes, orange and yellow too.🌝🤗
Much love mybfriend 💕🙏💕
I love yellow too, Maggie, as in sunflowers. And I also love blues and greens. Much love heading back your way! 💙🧡💚🥰
The beauty of nature Lauren .🌈
Have a lovely day my friend .
Squishy hugs and lots of love 😘🤗🙏❤️🌝
Wishing you the same, Maggie, and nature is always enchanting.
🧡💛💚💙❤️🥰💫
Thanks so much Lauren.
It is 🙏 a great healer 🥰🌈❤️🤗🦋
Lovely pictures and excellent poetry Lauren. I love oranges, orange flowers and burnt orange in dresses. Don’t forget the orange hues of sunset – magical!
Thanks, Balroop, and yes, don’t forget sunsets! I have a million sunset photos, and still can’t get enough! 😍
I’ll go with #1 as my favorite!
Thanks for letting me know, Liz! 🧡
You’re welcome, Lauren!
Ah what a wonderful orange symphony in 3 parts, Lauren! Love all just a tad mor the first one!
🧡🍊🧡
Love and hugs!
xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
…more 😉
I knew what you meant! 😍🧡
Thanks for your wonderful words, Marina! I’m glad you loved all of these! Hope all is well, my friend! Sending lots of hugs and love your way! 🧡🦁🧡
Beautiful words and pictures dearest Lauren 🌹🌹🌹
Thanks for your lovely words, Gabriella. I appreciate them. 🧡🧡
The third one is my favorite, Lauren.
Thanks for letting me know, Mary. It’s fun to learn which one stands out the most. Thanks for stopping by! 🧡
I definitely resonate with the third, Orange just speaks a language that is unique to each and every soul. So bright and yet so endearing! Although green is my soul color, orange just takes my breath away! 🥹🧡
Thank you for your lovely words, Lashay! I also love greens and blues. All colors evoke a different emotion, in my opinion. Thanks for sharing your favorite too. 🧡😊
Love all three acrostic poems, Lauren. Orange is a bright color associates with the sun and the sunflowers. I like the third poem that gives a softer feel of the bold color. I just bought some marigold with orange and a ring of yellow.
Thanks so much, Miriam. I’m glad you loved all 3 but had a favorite too. All 3 have resonated with friends, so it’s interesting to know. I love marigolds; they’re beautiful! Happy gardening! 🧡🌻
Thank you, Lauren! ❤ 🙂
🧡🥰
While I like all the stanzas, the first is my favorite. I’ve always been partial to orange because it’s such a warm color. My first vehicle was a pumpkin orange Chevy Nova.
I’m glad you liked all 3, Pete, but found a favorite too. I also love the warmth, along with its vibrancy. I can just picture your pumpkin orange Chevy Nova. How fun! My husband had a Chevy Nova when we met, but it wasn’t orange. 🙂 Thanks for chiming in! 😊🍊
I think I like three just because I am trying to surround myself with hope this week, but they’re all lovely 🌹
Thanks, Violet, and I can relate to surrounding yourself with hope. I appreciate your lovely words. 🧡
I love the second poem the most, but all three are wonderful, Lauren. Praying for affected families in Texas to have a safe place to stay now.
Thanks, Hazel! I’m glad you liked this ode to orange. And the Texas tragedy is beyond heartbreaking. ❤️
My pleasure, Lauren. Stay safe.
All three are good but I’m drawn to the third! Well done, Lauren!
Thanks, Wynne! I’m glad you liked these and found a favorite too! 🌞🟠🧡
All great poems Lauren but I really enjoyed the last one as we can feel you’re feeling energized by this beautiful color. Orange and yellow are a must when we need a boost!
Wishing you a fab day! ❤️
Thanks, Marie! I’m glad you loved this ode to orange and found a fave too! It’s interesting how colors evoke different emotions. Have a great day, my friend. 🧡💫☀️🟠🥰
Orange is a bright, welcoming colour.
It sure is, which is why I love it now. Thanks, Binky! 🍊😊
This is delightful, Lauren, and I love all three. I love orange, and it is such a welcoming and warm color. 🧡
I’m happy you loved all three, Eugi, and that you’re a fan of orange too. Thanks so much, my friend! 🧡🍊
You are most welcome, Lauren! 🧡
Ohhhh….orange! I love it! And I love all three poems but that last one had a little extra zest…especially “Raining positivity on passersby”.
We have tons of daylilies blooming in our little village and some folks hate the burst of orange because (I get it) in some spots they’ve taken over, eclipsing other perennials along roadsides, etc, but they’re gorgeous and scream “hello summer”. At least to me. Orange rules! 🥰
Aww, thanks a bunch, Vickie! I’m glad you love all three, but the third one seems to be in the lead as far as faves go. 🙂 It turns out that I’m not the only ‘orange’ fan! I understand how your neighbors would feel, but like you, I love how this color screams “hello summer!” It’s so warm, vibrant, and welcoming! I’m with you, Orange rules! 🧡🍊🧡
Xo! 😘
😍🌺💫
Each poem and photo is so beautiful and uplifting, Lauren. I love them all and Orange ja glad we all loved it.. tee hee.
“Noise silenced so peace becomes the he
Glue for a healthy well-being”
🍊🧡🍊🧡🍊
Thanks, Cindy, and you’re too funny! LOL Yep, I’m not alone in loving this vibrant color! I’m glad you’re with me in cheering it on too!
🧡🍊🧡🍊🧡🥰
Hahaha you’re Always welcome dear Lauren! I’m with you alright!!❤️
🩷🌺😍
The second one is my fave. First the last one was my fave, then the first one, now the middle one.
I believe I have made myself orangely clear. It is truly an uplifting colour. Honestly, I can’t think of one that is more up-lifting.
Beautiful writing, dear Lauren!
Yes, you have been perfectly, orangely clear, Resa! 😂 It’s been interesting to see which one (s) stood out for everyone who stopped by. I think #3 is in the lead, then #1, then #2. Only in the past couple of years have I grown more attached to this vibrant color. All colors evoke a different emotion like Rebecca mentioned. Thanks so much, my friend! Hugs and lots of oranges! 🙂
🧡🍊🤗🤗🍊🧡
Oh good, the underdog poem is my fave!
Colour is powerful. Perhaps we should use colour more often in language? Have an orange weekend, or may you have a hot pink birthday or may you find your green (for health), Purple Anniversary! etc.
Sending love!
🧡🍊🤗🤗🍊🧡
Yes, and I love, love, love how you think, Resa! 😍😍 You always make me smile! Lots of love to you! 🧡💛💚❤️🩷💙💜
Lol, you make me smile too!
🧡💛💚❤️💙💜
I’m glad 🥰😃😍🥰😎❤️🌺
What a clever interpretation of that glorious cheerful display of flowers. You are talented.
How kind of you, Ian. I really appreciate your wonderful words, and I’m glad you enjoyed this ode to orange. 🧡🍊
gorgeous, gorgeous colours — and I admire the design and imagery of each poem — and, no, I’m not going to play favourites 🙂
Thanks so much, John! I appreciate your kind words, and I’m happy you loved this tribute to orange. 🍊🟠🧡
it would be a great exercise for students in a writing group to each choose a different color and produce a poem on it using yours as a model — —
What a compliment, John! Thanks again! 🙏
I like them all and love orange color. It’s so happy
I’m glad you like all of these and are an orange fan too, Sadje. Thanks! 🧡🍊🧡
You’re most welcome
#2 was my favorite. I love the photos, and the orange reminds me of autumn’s beauty and pleasant weather.
Thanks for your kind words, Edward, and I love the beauty and weather of fall too. Have a wonderful weekend. 🥰
You’re welcome, Lauren. Thank you, and same to you.
Gorgeous photos. Are those poppies ? I truly enjoyed your poem.
Thanks for your kind words, Audrey. The poppies are in the middle in the bottom row. 🙂
It very smart of you to begin each lines with the letter of the word ORANGE. Each stanza first letters put together spells ORANGE
This is beautiful
This form is called Acrostic poems. Thank you!
I like purple, even though I’ve never actually seen purple, people have described it to me, and it sounds like it is a beautiful color!
Purple is beautiful, Carol Anne! And to me, it’s also calming like blues tend to be. xo
