Orange Splendor

Overwhelmed jubilantly by your
Radiance relieving uncertainty
Along the path of unknowns
Not once drifting off-course
Giving unselfishly of your essence
Emotions shift in your presence

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh, how you delight with your happy state
Reliable in your everlasting contribution
Awe is a natural reaction
Never taken for granted
Growing from your vibrant message
Effervescent way of spirit-lifting
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Observe soft petals that grin
Raining positivity on passersby
Ambience to daily reside in
Noise silenced so peace becomes the
Glue for a healthy well-being
Elixir from nature’s gift basket of magic

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    1. Thanks for letting me know your favorite, Beth. The last few years, orange became more appealing to me too. As much as I love pinks and purples, they’ve dropped down the list, while more vibrant colors like orange, red, and yellow have risen to the top. 🙂 I’m glad my words resonated. 🧡
      1. my very favorite is green, and yellow next, but orange had become important, isn’t it interesting how color takes such an important place in our lives ?
      2. It is interesting, and I also love blues and greens. I think pinks and purples have lost their appeal, although some are still beautiful like in flowers and pinks in sunrises and sunsets. 🌅🥰
  1. Lauren – wonderful!! Your beautiful ode to orange is a symphony of light and joy! 🍊 Each acrostic flows with such intention, and I found myself smiling with every line—especially “Ambience to daily reside in” and “Effervescent way of spirit-lifting.” Your words remind me that colour is more than pigment—it’s emotion, energy, and presence. Thank you for bringing so much warmth into today.
    1. “Symphony of light and joy” What a beautiful description, Rebecca. Thanks so much! And I love your takeaway that color represents emotion, energy, and presence. Exactly how I feel! I’m so glad you loved this ode to orange! Hugs 🧡
    Beautiful photos and poems to honor orange, Lauren. I like all three of them and as for my color it would have to be blue or purple 🙂
  3. I definitely resonate with the third, Orange just speaks a language that is unique to each and every soul. So bright and yet so endearing! Although green is my soul color, orange just takes my breath away! 🥹🧡
  4. Love all three acrostic poems, Lauren. Orange is a bright color associates with the sun and the sunflowers. I like the third poem that gives a softer feel of the bold color. I just bought some marigold with orange and a ring of yellow.
    1. Thanks so much, Miriam. I’m glad you loved all 3 but had a favorite too. All 3 have resonated with friends, so it’s interesting to know. I love marigolds; they’re beautiful! Happy gardening! 🧡🌻
    While I like all the stanzas, the first is my favorite. I’ve always been partial to orange because it’s such a warm color. My first vehicle was a pumpkin orange Chevy Nova.
    1. I’m glad you liked all 3, Pete, but found a favorite too. I also love the warmth, along with its vibrancy. I can just picture your pumpkin orange Chevy Nova. How fun! My husband had a Chevy Nova when we met, but it wasn’t orange. 🙂 Thanks for chiming in! 😊🍊
  6. I love the second poem the most, but all three are wonderful, Lauren. Praying for affected families in Texas to have a safe place to stay now.
  7. All great poems Lauren but I really enjoyed the last one as we can feel you’re feeling energized by this beautiful color. Orange and yellow are a must when we need a boost!
    Wishing you a fab day! ❤️
  8. Ohhhh….orange! I love it! And I love all three poems but that last one had a little extra zest…especially “Raining positivity on passersby”.
    We have tons of daylilies blooming in our little village and some folks hate the burst of orange because (I get it) in some spots they’ve taken over, eclipsing other perennials along roadsides, etc, but they’re gorgeous and scream “hello summer”. At least to me. Orange rules! 🥰
    1. Aww, thanks a bunch, Vickie! I’m glad you love all three, but the third one seems to be in the lead as far as faves go. 🙂 It turns out that I’m not the only ‘orange’ fan! I understand how your neighbors would feel, but like you, I love how this color screams “hello summer!” It’s so warm, vibrant, and welcoming! I’m with you, Orange rules! 🧡🍊🧡
  9. Each poem and photo is so beautiful and uplifting, Lauren. I love them all and Orange ja glad we all loved it.. tee hee.
  10. The second one is my fave. First the last one was my fave, then the first one, now the middle one.
    I believe I have made myself orangely clear. It is truly an uplifting colour. Honestly, I can’t think of one that is more up-lifting.
    Beautiful writing, dear Lauren!
    1. Yes, you have been perfectly, orangely clear, Resa! 😂 It’s been interesting to see which one (s) stood out for everyone who stopped by. I think #3 is in the lead, then #1, then #2. Only in the past couple of years have I grown more attached to this vibrant color. All colors evoke a different emotion like Rebecca mentioned. Thanks so much, my friend! Hugs and lots of oranges! 🙂
      1. Oh good, the underdog poem is my fave!
        Colour is powerful. Perhaps we should use colour more often in language? Have an orange weekend, or may you have a hot pink birthday or may you find your green (for health), Purple Anniversary! etc.
        Sending love!
      1. it would be a great exercise for students in a writing group to each choose a different color and produce a poem on it using yours as a model — —
