Hello Everyone, we had a wonderful weekend away and I’ll share some photos later. But today, I want to thank Manuela Timofte, Editor of Gobblers at Masticadores, for publishing my poem “In Darkness there is Light.” A wonderful surprise on this first day of April. ❤️
Nighttime falls inside the doors of the beautiful hotel
an experience to tuck away in my memory box
Many sprint here and there following their agendas
in the midst of mild chaos –
some scrambling from point A to point B
wondering what happens next
or maybe they’ll discover a cozy spot like mine
with a small, round table and chair
in my private slice of darkness
An unexpected power outage doesn’t stop me
Who doesn’t wish for a little light,
but functioning without it…
bring on the adventure!
As I look around in blackness and listen,
words flutter nearby…

You’re welcome, Lauren!
Congratulations on the publication, Lauren. That is fantastic to have your writing go places. ‘A page lies in wait until it feels satisfied with…’ is my favourite part of the poem. It so symbolically encapsulates darkness in times of creativity, quite a great effort before we see the light with writing and publishing our words. I love that reading each line, that each line can be felt through the idea of darkness or light… Beautifully done 🙂
Thanks so much for your insightful and wonderful comment, Mabel. I appreciate your good wishes, and it is nice for authors to be recognized on various platforms. I’m so glad you liked this poem that I wrote in the dark. It’s interesting how inspiration can find its way from all places and emotions. Thanks again! ❤️
Lovely. Cozy writing spots are the best. 💗
Thanks, Michele, and this one was for sure. 🙂 💞
That’s nice to have another one of your poems published.
It’s always an honor, Binky. Thank you!
Congratulations dear Lauren and lovely poem though there was an outage. In darkness we can surely see light.
Thanks so much, Kamal! xoxo
You are always welcome dear Lauren ❤️❤️❤️
It’s true, that often in darkness we find – or can better appreciate – the light. I’m glad to know your weekend away was restorative… you needed that after the tough time you’ve had recently, Lauren.
Happy pre-weekend!
I definitely made the most of an unexpected situation, Steve, and it turned out to be a great moment. Thanks for your kind words. You’re right, we needed that time away. I plan to share some photos, but I’m working on my ‘Copper’ book, so I may not post as often. Having a day job cuts into blogging and writing time. 😊 Anyway, wishing you a great weekend! 🥰
Hey, even being retired cuts into blogging and writing time, Lauren! 😉
Have a wonderful weekend! ☀️
Haha, Steve! I get it! You too! 🤗
