New Children’s Book Release: Cora’s Quest

Dear Family and Friends,

I’m excited to announce the release of my children’s book, Cora’s Quest! My nephew, Chris Mendez, illustrated the book, and it was a magical experience watching Cora come to life in her woodland world through his beautiful artwork.

Full transparency, this is my first children’s book. So, I hope that anyone (adults or children) who get to know Cora will find her little story to be a charming tale, and will take her big message to heart with them into the future.

Book blurb:

I haven’t planned a blog tour, but my good friend, Resa, is just as excited as I am, so she’ll spread this exciting news on her blog as well! If you would like to promote Cora’s Quest on any social media platform, I would be honored and thrilled! If so, please let me know in the comments below, or you can email me at baydreamer25@gmail.com. A Huge Thanks in advance! 🙏

To purchase your copy from Amazon, click on the link above.
Cora’s Quest would be a delightful addition to your holiday shopping!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I wish you a peaceful holiday season.
Lauren ❤️

    1. Thanks so much, Sadje! The kindle version is available, but the formatting is wonky. It couldn’t be avoided and I’m not happy about it. That’s why I added the disclosure. So, you can purchase, but the images won’t be aligned with the text pages, so please keep this in mind and know that it wasn’t my doing. Otherwise, Cora will still be charming. 🙂 ❤️

  1. Hi Lauren, congratulations on the new book. Issues with the ebook is why I now create my own and self publish. I am heading for Japan in a few days so can’t host a post pre Christmas. I’ll try and share any posts I see though.

    1. Thanks so much, Robbie, and any help to promote would be appreciated. I’d also love to hear your self-publishing method if you have time to email me. If not, I’ll research for a better option for the next book. This book was tricky because of the images. But it’s frustrating, which is why I’m recommending the print version; it’s beautiful. 🙂 Have a wonderful trip! ❤️🤗

      1. Omg, that was quick, Denise! You must’ve read the e-book. I hope the wonkiness didn’t hinder your experience. 🙂 I’m still working on book reviews, and two of yours are included. So, I’m sorry it’s taking a long time. Life has a way. ❤️

Lol. Yes, ebook! No wonkiness! It was cute and a good family read with the little ones. I understand life taking over…we all do the best we can! No worries. Xo

    1. Thanks very much, Brian, and both releases are just as exciting, but since this is my first children’s book, I suppose there’s a new glow. 🙂 My nephew is a talented artist, so collaborating with him was a true pleasure. He’s super busy, but he made time for his auntie. 🙂 Honestly, I’m proud of both books and all that I’ve released. But as in the podcast with Vicki and Wynne, it’s all about growth. ❤️🤗

  2. Congratulations, my dear friend! Just got my copy and it’s wonderful, story and illustrations and with a beautiful message! I know it’ll bring smiles to all who read it. Many hugs and may Cora trot into the hearts of many! xoxoxo

    1. Thanks, Marina, and wow! I assume you read the e-book and I hope it wasn’t too difficult. 🙂 Thank you for your beautiful words and magical message! “May Cora trot into the hearts of many!” I love that! Can I quote you in the future? Hugs and love! xoxoxo

      1. It was beautiful reading it! No problems with the layout though I know what you mean. I’m sure the printed copy must be absolutely brilliant! And …of course, you need not ask! More hugs back! ❤️❤️❤️

    1. Yay is right, Resa! What a wild ride, right? 🙂 I know I’m repeating myself, but Thanks again and again for all your help and support. I’ll reblog soon! Sally and Dawn are promoting tomorrow. So kind! Chris is so excited and really loved collaborating. I hope you read his bio at the end. Anyway! Hugs xoxoxoxoxo

      1. Lol, yes, a wild ride and it was just what I needed.

Yes, I did read Chris’s bio. His achievements are remarkable, all things considered. He sounds like a wonderful person. I wish him and his daughter all the best in the world!

I knew once this announcement hit the fans, you’d be in for a warm and prolific response.

Okay my dear, we are all here!

        xo🕊🤍🦌

      2. Chris is a sweetheart and I’m glad he made time for Cora and me in his busy schedule. I’m proud of our accomplishment. A learning curve, but all worth it. 🙂 And your wishes for him and his daughter are very kind! Thanks again, Resa! Hugs and love! 🦌💖🦌💖🦌🤗

      3. YES! Even though it’s below 0c, still there is sun tomorrow. A person has to get out in the elements, or they’ll seize up!
        🤍🕊🌹

      4. Okay… so the weather man lied. It’s 0, but feels like -9c & we are having snow squalls.
        The wind is 54 km/hr.

I’ve stayed home to work on a film project consultation (I make some $$$ doing those now, for young film makers)
AND some of the time will go to finishing the new Art Gown! She’s hours away. I’ve been working on her for months.
Diana from Myths sent me a trove of linens and laces she inherited, that belonged to her great grandmother, and grandmother. Some pieces date back to the late 1800’s!

Wait ’til you see this deer baby!!!!!
        xoxo🕊🤍🌹🦌

      5. Yikes, I’m shivering just reading about your weather! That’s great about getting compensated for your work on the film project! And wow, kudos to Diana for sending you the linens and lace! How special is that! I can’t wait to see her! I know she’ll be fabulous as they all are!

My eyes are so tired I feel crosseyed, but I’m trying to catch up. 🙂 Okay, see you tomorrow! xoxoxoxoxo

    1. Yay, Dawn, thank you SO much! And thanks in advance for spreading the word. Even though I’m not keen on the e-book formatting, the kindle version is already #1 New Release in Children’s Self-Esteem & Self-Respect. That’s very cool! 🙂 I’ll see you tomorrow! 💞🙏

  3. Congratulations Lauren my friend! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 How exciting and oh so charming! 🦌 Cheers to your continued success my dear. 🥂 Sending you lots of love, hugs, and smooches! 🤗💖😊

    1. Thanks so much for your good wishes and infectious enthusiasm, Kym! Chris and I are thrilled with the book. A first children’s book for both of us, so it’s an accomplishment to be proud of. 🙂 Love, Hugs, and Smooches back to you, my friend! 🤗❤️💖🙏🎉🥰🦌🦌🦌

    1. Thanks for your very kind words, Dave! I really appreciate them! This was a wonderful collaboration with my nephew. He’s married and has two young daughters, along with a day job, but he jumped at the opportunity when I asked him. 🙂

    1. Thanks so much, Betty! It’s been a wonderful journey with Chris, a first collaboration for us, but probably not the last. I hope you enjoy this sweet little book. 🙂 I’d love to hear your thoughts. Love and hugs to you, my friend 💖🌷🙏

      1. Lauren, just wanted to let you know I left a little review on your lovely book, on Amazon (under my profile name, “Beth”). Sorry it’s a very short review as I’m unable to do longer ones anymore. It’ll hopefully be posted there in a day or two.
Also wanted to mention how much I love your nephew’s artwork. He’s very talented!!
Love and hugs to you. 🤗
        ❤️❤️❤️

      2. Oh, Betty, that is so nice of you! I hope you liked our book. The story was well-received in 2022 on my blog, and a few friends suggested a children’s book. I wasn’t sure I could do it, but I knew I’d want Chris to illustrate it. And no apologies about the length of the review. I just appreciate you sharing your thoughts (hoping they’re good). 🙂 I’ll pass on your kind words to Chris also. Love and hugs to you, my friend! Thanks again! ❤️🤗❤️🙏🌺

Very cool, Lauren. I went to look for it on Amazon, but it must not be up yet. I’ll be a customer when it happens. Like you, I always prefer a hard copy of a book (especially for children).

    1. Thanks so much, Pete, but it is on Amazon. If you click on the ‘buy’ tab on the image below the pink text in this post, it’ll take you to Amazon. I just tried it, so it should work. I appreciate your interest and support too!

Hmm, interesting. I’m not seeing it. There was a message saying internal service error. After I typed this note, I scrolled back up, and it’s now there. I had previously typed in your name and the book title on Amazon, and the only thing that came up were your previous titles. Oh well, the above internal service error message went aways and the buy option is now there. Go figure. 🤣

      2. Okay, that makes sense because I’ve seen that too, and I don’t know why that is happening. A first for me. 🙂 Interesting about the search though. I’m going to try that too. Anyway, I hope you find Cora’s tale charming. 🙂 Thanks again! 😄🙏

  6. Dearest Lauren, we wish you all the very best for your launch of Cora, your first children’s book. Your beautiful writing alongside Chris’s charming illustrations are destined to touch many. Congratulations and much love. Xxx 🩷🌟🩷🤗

    1. Thanks for your lovely words of support and encouragement, Jane. Chris and I are thrilled that we reached the finish line! It was an adventure and magical working together. He is a color blind artist, so his talent is truly remarkable. I’m glad he took the time to work with me in his busy schedule of day job, husband, father, and his art business. Thanks again, my friend! xoxoxo

  7. Congratulations on your book going out into the world! The story sounds lovely. And it’s fantastic that your nephew is a talented illustrator and contributed to the book 🌞

    1. Thanks, Vicki! Chris and I are thrilled that we finally made it to the publication date. He was a joy to work with, and the fact that he’s a color blind artist makes his work even more remarkable. Cora already received her first 5-star review yesterday, the day of the launch. So that was a great surprise. I feel her story is charming and offers a significant message for all ages. Anyway, thank you! 💖🙏

  9. Congrats, Lauren!!! I just bought your book and look forward to reading it today. I bought the kindle version (despite your concerns) so I can have a review on my blog post tomorrow! It looks like a sweet book and Chris’s illustrations are delightful. Hugs to you both on the accomplishment. ❤ ❤ ❤

    1. Thanks so much, Diana! I’m touched! 🙂 I think I need to get over that wonky formatting, but I’m sure you understand how I feel. And thank you for wanting to read and review so fast. I really do appreciate your support! Chris was a pleasure to work with, and his work is remarkable, considering that he is a color blind artist. You’ll read more in his bio. Hugs to you for your wonderful support, and I’ll pass your kind words onto him. Hugs 💖🌷🙏

      1. You are so sweet. I’m glad my book arrived. I always worry about shipping…and my copy of “Cora’s Quest” and “More Than Coffee” are on their way! Give my congratulations to Chris, too! 🥰🥰🥰

      2. My pleasure! Can’t wait to read and I know another author who wrote a lovely children’s book and I’ll be sure to mention “Cora’s Quest” to her. xo! 🥰🥰🥰

  10. Lauren, such a beautiful book. I saw it first at Resa’s! How fortunate to have such an artistically talented nephew.
Congratulations dear Lauren, a wonderful Christmas gift for kids and teachers too.
    ❤️

    1. Thanks so much, Bridgette! I think Cora’s Quest is the story you read to your son after I shared it on my blog. My nephew, Chris, illustrated the book, so it was special for us working together. And he’s not only a fantastic artist, but color blind. He’s remarkable. Anyway, thank you! I’m a little biased. ❤️🤗
