Try a cookie with a haiku!

Yes, November has arrived, but I have a belated Halloween share,
and last week was a whirlwind! ๐Ÿ‘ป๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ˜

These are chocolate chip cookies I baked for the spooky occasion.
So, let your spirits return to All Hallow’s Eve…
if your nerves get jittery when the sun sinks behind hills
and the wind begins to whistle
and owls screech from high in looming trees
and shadows follow you down the street...

cookies make the ghouls
vanish when the sky turns black
chocolate magic

eyes watch intently
when you indulge in first bite
taste with true caution

crossed or not, they spy
as you move around the house
beware
of cuteness

chocolate chips whisk
worries away in the wind
take one, two, or three!

I hope this post brought a smile,
and don’t forget to grab a cookie on your way out!
Have a peaceful Sunday and Happy November! ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ

  1. I took a bunch! How could I resist, cookies and poetry are best!

Thank you for this fun post and post Halloween treat, Lauren!

Did you get a lot of Trick and Treaters? Was there a costume that stood out? A popular one.

None over here, so I have to live vicariously.

    1. Yay, I’m glad, Resa! I’m so happy you enjoyed this post. And our block was pretty quiet, but we had a few. No costume that stood out. I don’t think we have many young kids around here anymore. They’re either babies or older. ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿชโค๏ธ

  2. As a kid, I used to bake green peanut butter cookies (I have no idea why, but it seemed like a neat-o idea at the time). Your haiku are adorable and the cookies look appealing. ๐Ÿ˜Š
