Celebrating Spillwords Press October Publication of the Month!

Happy Friday and Happy November!

Thanks to your generosity and for taking the time to vote, my poem “Treats only, Please!” won Publication of the Month for October on Spillwords Press!!! ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰

I am so excited to receive this award among 15 other wonderful nominees! Thank you to Dagmara K. and her team for providing a welcoming literary site for authors to share their emotions through words. Iโ€™m honored to be a part of the Spillwords Press community!

I offer my deepest gratitude for your vote and ongoing support, and for visiting Spillwords to read my poem, โ€œTreats only, Please!โ€ I’m delighted that my light-hearted, entertaining take on Halloween resonated with so many! A poem that was inspired by the days when my children were young and had a blast dressing up in their cute costumes to trick-or-treat! I took a stroll down memory lane to find the pics below…

My angel and lion!
Lion meets cheerleader!
Harry Potter meets a vampire, and our Lucky Girl joins
in the fun!
Lucky Girl was given her wings in 2011. โค๏ธ

My poem is displayed on the sidebar of the Series tab at Spillwords.com for the month of November, if you’d like to take a peek!

  1. Huge congratulations!! I am so pleased your poem won Publication of the Month. The kids in their Halloween costumes are adorable. I loved creating costumes for my kids too.

  2. What great news, Lauren and congratulations on this wonderful news. Who who, publication of the month is fabulous and I love the photos of your adorable children when they were young! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŽ‰

    1. Thanks a bunch, Cindy! I’m so appreciative of all the support! And thanks about the photos. They were cute, but I’m a little biased. ๐Ÿ™‚ And congrats to you too! So exciting, my friend! Hugs ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ’ž๐ŸŽ‰

    1. Thanks for your lovely words, Sue! I love looking back at those precious photos. And I’m so grateful for all the support for this nomination. I’m over the moon again! Much love and wishing you a wonderful weekend! xoxoxoxo

  3. Enjoyed the poem and photos, Lauren. Congratulations. Takes me back to my youth. We lived next to an old, overgrown graveyard when I was growing up. Plenty spooky at Halloween. My brother and I would hide in the graveyard and make ghost sounds when trick-or-treaters went walking by.

      1. This will work, Lauren. Just go to your browser and type in: Nancy Jo and the Graveyard Ghost. Scroll down a tad and you should come right to it. I just tried to make sure it works. Choose the ‘blog a book’ entry. It’s worth a laugh. I’m surprised my sister didn’t kill us.

      1. Oh common on now Lauren, I know you were anticipating the utmost possibility of such an accolade! That’s what I call “favor!” So happy for you my friend. ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜˜

      2. Oh, Kym, you’re funny! I think the fact that I didn’t submit a scary piece kept telling me that it won’t be accepted. So, ‘unexpected’ because of the light-hearted take on Halloween. But I guess I’m not the only one who likes fun more than spooky! ๐Ÿ‘ป That’s the reasoning! Thank you again, and of course, I’m over the moon and very grateful for the support I’ve received. Hugs and smooches, dear friend! ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅ‚๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‘ป๐Ÿค—

      1. Aww you are very welcome Lauren.
Kym and I are heading over to you now ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜

    1. Thanks so much, Diana! It is definitely a ‘treat!’ And those old photos are precious and fun to return to now and then. This post was a good reason to use them. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks again, my friend! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ป๐ŸŽƒ

      1. Youโ€™re very welcome, Lauren! Itโ€™s sunny today and I went out on my bike for a beautiful ride in the cold autumn airโ€ฆ fun!
