Mountain Lake Magic πŸ’š

blue nylon walls keep
us sheltered from elements
cozy mountain home

sitting on the shore
sun dips in and out, playing
hide and seek with clouds

kayakers paddle
no destination in mind
adventure awaits

lakeside writing time
inspiration surrounds me
thoughts on conveyer

backcountry hikers
shelter in tent, laughing at
mother nature’s moods

bumble bee jets by
avoids crashing into us
enticed by purple

lizard scurries by
why is she in a hurry?
must be dinner time

we watch chipmunks play
springing from branch to branch, a
forest jungle gym

sun descends behind
clouds, magic in vivid hues
one more miracle

surface shimmers like
diamonds, satin smooth , invites
for refreshing dip

sleepy eyes open
to apricot hues above
new morning marvel

  1. I love the descriptiveness of these haiku, Lauren. My favourite is, “sitting on the shore / sun dips in and out, playing / hide and seek with clouds.” The photos are wonderful, too, reminding me of similar scenes in the blissfulness of nature.

  2. They’re all beautiful, Lauren. I read them twice and couldn’t pick a favorite. It seems that you had a wonderful trip into the wilds. I hope your foot held out well, though I doubt it would have ruined the fun. Hugs.

    1. Thanks, Diana! I’m glad you enjoyed the pics and poems. We had a great time, and surprisingly, my foot was fine. I’m on a no-pain streak and hope it lasts forever. πŸ™‚ But hubby and I have been isolating with covid since the 3rd. Sigh. First time for us though, so we can’t complain. But the healing is going so slow. Hope you had a great time too! πŸ’™πŸ¦‹

    1. Thanks so much, Robbie. We still tested positive and have symptoms, but they’re slowly getting better. We’re not contagious anymore which is good. It’s a slow healing process. Hope you’re healthy too! ❀️

    1. Thanks, Betty, and we’re better but not fully. It’s a slow climb to 100 %. Still tested positive on Tuesday but will test today again. Fingers crossed. Hope you’re doing well, and thanks again for your lovely review! Hugs! xoxoxo
