Fulfillment

joy could encompass
if you unfetter your goals
and dreams functioning
parallel with purposes
to be recognized upon

the path that guides you
because they desire to shift
and slide however
their moods or penchants persuade,
longing to find fulfillment

  1. Nice poem, Lauren.

    1. Im glad you found lines that resonated, Liz. Based on experience, we can set goals and we can dream dreams, but choices and life itself can throw us off course. So I believe that we need to allow both to change and to be flexible in finding out where that new direction might lead us. ❀️

  2. I love the title of this piece and the way the opening lines pull me immediately into the wander the writing takes me on in search of that wonderful fulfillment! ❀

    1. I’m so glad you love this piece, Layla. From my experience, goals and dreams can be set and conjured up, but either by choice or by life’s interception, they may have to change. So, we need to be flexible, knowing we can hold more than one goal or dream and still find fulfillment. My two cents, which is what sparked the inspiration for this poem. Thanks always for your beautiful words! ❀️

    1. Thanks, Robbie, and I imagine the number is pretty high. That’s why it’s good to have more than one goal, one dream. Be flexible so disappointment won’t set in. I’ve learned this over the course of my life. πŸ™‚

  3. One thing about having many goals and a variety of dreams, Lauren, is that I’ve rarely worried about a door closing. New doors always seem to open. I love the old paths that I have followed time and again through the wilderness, but a new trailβ€” what excitement! Enjoyed your poem. –Curt

    1. Thanks so much, Diana. I’ve had many dreams and goals over the years that have shifted, so I’ve learned to be flexible and to go with the flow. The outcome is usually a pleasant surprise. πŸ™‚ πŸ’–

  4. Lauren,
I know many of my goals have shifted and changed through time. I feel it is for a higher purpose. A part of co-creating for me is learning to be aware and to be flexible. Thanks for your beautiful words.
    Many Blessings
    Lisa xoxo

  5. Unfetter your goals. Yes, that’s right- greatest advice. I see that as Universe leading. Because everything happens to land us in a better place when we are grounded with good intent. The universe does conspire In our behalf.
The photograph and the rest of the words are delightful. Thanks for sharing, dear Lauren. Blessings.
