We’ve been stars
in each other’s sky
all this time,
though we never
chose to see –
never stepped
across the line

so much time…
many sunsets lost
before we realized

but here we are
body, mind, soul
offering hearts
to each other,
finally, whole

now each sun shines
a different hue,
each sky delivers
another blue

with our love
for each other
no longer concealed,
we embrace
this new life and
the miracles
we feel

      1. Short answer, fine now. But, my Dad passed away two months ago, and that has been tough. I posted some poems I wrote last month. Glad you’re doing well! 💗

      2. As for my writing, I suffer(ed) from major writer’s block, I guess… Haven’t written in so long, even though my brain has been overactive lately… Maybe should just sit down and let the words find their way to the paper…
        Hope to post something soon!

      3. I’ve been away since January, had writer’s block, too. Then my Dad passed in August, and I became inspired. Anything can inspire, and it’s not all rosy. My Dad loved my poetry and books, so he’s probably already read them all right here. 🙂 Anyway, my advice would be not to try so hard. When inspiration comes, you’ll know it. Hope to read something soon though.

      4. Totally true…
I mostly write to get my feelings in order, so to say… It calms me down and helps me to see my problems and such more clearly…
I think there’s just been too much pressure lately. Like I was unconsciously pressuring myself to write, because that would make me feel better… But letting go is hard… 😅
I’ve put something on paper tonight, but I’m not sure if I’ll share it yet…

  1. PAID UP

    Freedom’s never free
    Any union has its dues
    Happy to pay mine

Thank you dearly for this inspiration, Lauren. (Still gleaning fresh meanings from it too. 🙂 )

    1. Ahh, Ben, I always look forward to your comments and just how you’ve been inspired by my words. Love this one, and I’m happy to pay mine, too! 🙂 By the way, feel free to share more if inspiration visits twice, three times, or… 🙂

  2. Finally.. when great poets celebrates your moments.. it feels powerful. Thank you so much Lauren for this amazing poem..
You are such a wonderful soul. Always looking out for others. Hope I can have the chance to look out for you.
Hugs and lots of love. 🤗🤗💞💞❤❤

    1. Aww, thanks, Maureen! I’m glad you liked it, and thanks for your sweet words, too. If there comes a time I need looking out for, I’ll let you know. 🙂 And it’s always rewarding to do great things for friends. Hugs and lots of love to you! 💓💜💓💜
