Happy 23rd Anniversary, Honey ♥

They say my heart lies on my sleeve
I can’t disagree, nor will I try
There’s another manner, though,
For me to prove that you’re my guy

In every verse, in every line
My feelings show quite clear
It’s impossible for me to hold back joy
That you’ve brought so near

How can I convey the importance of you?
What new words can I write?
Simply said, with you in my life
I always find the light

I’m a romantic, plain to see
This is silly, mushy and sappy
But, I don’t think it matters
If I’m truly, truly happy

You should be sure now, just how I feel
With each year, you’re loved more and more
Happy Anniversary, My Husband and Best Friend
Forever and ever, I will adore

  1. How very blessed you are, dear Lauren. It is your unflinchinly loving and accepting heart that brought you this marital happiness. I am sure! Congratulations on your anniversay. Great that it is on the weekend, right?

    1. Thank you, Rose, your words are always so lovely and poetic in themselves…yes, the weekend was great. We went out Friday night, dinner and dancing, and last night, our son and daughter made dinner for us. It was excellent and we told them they can do that anytime! 🙂
The downside is, my Mom is knocking on Heaven’s door, so we’ve been by the phone a lot and weepy. She’s lived a long life, 90 now, Dad is 92, but it doesn’t take away the bittersweet-ness! Anyway, I don’t know why I’m telling you this…but thanks for listening. I’m not much in the mood for writing, have some awards to catch up on and am far behind on reading others posts, but will try some more~Hugs to you xx

Happy Anniversary, Lauren & Hubby! How wonderful, what a sense of joy you bring to each other, and to everyone whose lives you touch – you’ve brought a huge smile to my face this morning! (I love the photo, too!) ~ Love and light from Julie xoxox

    1. Thanks so much, Julie! I truly appreciate your heartfelt words and am glad to have made you smile. I can’t believe 23 years has gone by (we’ve known each other for 24 yrs) and those photos look so old now. But, I love them, too, so thank you again! xx Hope you have a wonderful day~

    1. Thank you so much, PJ! We had a great time – out to dinner and dancing Friday night, then our 16 & 20 yr old made us dinner last night. It was excellent and we told them they can do that anytime! I get so tired of figuring out what to make for dinner! Hope you’re doing okay today. I’m far behind on everything…my Mom’s life is nearing the end, so we’re praying for her and Dad’s peace and comfort and just waiting…Hugs to you, my friend, and thanks for listening..

Oh, I’m all weepy for you both–Happy Anniversary, Congratulations!! Lauren, you and “M” are so blessed–and I couldn’t be more genuinely happy for you. I love that you’re a mushy romantic who wears her heart on her sleeve. It’s wonderful that there’s someone out there who is totally in love with her husband!! I wish you decades more of this kind of blessed happiness–what a great example you are to our very disposable society. I send my love to you both!

I appreciate you so very much, Lauren–I’m enjoying the connection we’ve made as friends in Blogville, sisters in the Lord. Your comments are always so affirming to me–thank you.

You spoke of the “rainy Sat”–are y’ all in the Pac NW, too??

Again, Happy Anniversary–hope you have big plans for a fun, romantic celebration–God bless you both!!!!!

    1. Caddo, your words and wishes touch me so deeply, my simple “thank you” seems inaccurate. But, I do appreciate you, too! I “ditto” everything you’ve said about our blogging friendship and your comments to me, as well. Rainy in northern Calif…finally, though, which is good! 🙂
Without going into great detail, my mom isn’t doing well, Hospice is now involved, so I’ve lost momentum in blogland and don’t feel much like writing. I’m going to try to catch up on awards and read others posts, though…anyway, if you could add my family to your list of prayers, that would be wonderful…thanks again, Caddo, you’re a lovely soul~Hugs!

    1. Thanks, Betty, I wrote it in about 10 minutes, not award winning, but fun and mushy! 🙂 Good thing he appreciates my mushiness or I’d be in trouble! Of course, he can be the same way, too, so we’re a good pair! xx

    1. Thanks so much, Eric, for your happy wishes! And I am thrilled and touched with your gift of the Candle Lighter Award. I’m honored, of course, that you thought of me, so thank you and congratulations to you, also, for your nomination, which is also very deserving! Sending happiness your way, too, and I will follow through, hopefully, today….:)

  6. The most important factor in a successful marriage is acceptance , if you accept someone with open heart, everything, love gratitude etc. comes naturally. A very lovely and romantic poem. Warm wishes and love.

  7. This is so so so beautiful, Lauren! Seriously… I had goosebumps while reading it! I wish someday I can write something like this – for a real person and meaning it! 😉
    Congrats!!!!!

    1. Awww…thank you, Nanda, and I wish you the same happiness. I know you’ll find it and I wasn’t looking for “it” at the time…I was selling my frig and he bought it! Ha, ha! You just never know…xx
