Dear Family and Friends,

Happy July! I am excited to announce that my poem โ€œI Am From!โ€ was voted Publication of the Month for June at Spillwords Press!!! ๐ŸŽ‰

I am so excited to receive this award and recognition! Thank you to Dagmara K. and her team for providing a welcoming literary site for authors to share their emotions through words. It is truly an honor to be a part of the Spillwords Press community!

I offer my deepest gratitude to YOU for your ongoing support and vote, and for initially visiting Spillwords to read my poem, โ€œhttps://spillwords.com/i-am-from/!โ€ย I am also humbled that my version of George Ella Lyon’s “Where I’m From” resonated with so many. And I’m grateful to Lori and Vicki for providing the writing inspiration. Please visit their beautiful blogs if you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting them yet. They are amazing and talented women, whom I call friends in this warm community!

    1. Aww, Vicki, you rock! Thank you! With 15 other talented authors, I didn’t have high hopes. So when the email came through, it was a nice surprise. Your support means a lot! ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฅฐ

      1. You’re welcome. ๐Ÿ˜Š I just read your book, Cora’s Quest – the eBook version since I gave the hard copies away as presents. ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ™ƒ Uplifting message with adorable illustrations. Will write a review before week is over. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

      3. Youโ€™re a sweetheart, Michele! Thatโ€™s why Iโ€™ve said that the message is for all ages because we all deal with fear and courage. Canโ€™t wait! ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฉท๐ŸŒท

    1. Thank you, thank you, Brian! Who knew my version would make it this far?! I certainly didn’t. But that’s the ‘self doubt lodged on my shoulders.’ ๐Ÿ˜Š I’m thrilled though and truly appreciate your wonderful support and words. โค๏ธ

  3. Congratulations on the publication. This is a wonderful poem. I want to give a shout-out to Lifeiswhine for mentioning and sharing a link to your page. It bloggers like her that make the possibility of discovery on WordPress possible. On another note, I’ve had a few poems published on Spillwords. However, the last few that I had submitted for review was met with silence. I didn’t get an acceptance or rejection response which was strange, but I’ll keep trying. Has the ever happened to you?

    Peace, TheRhymeRula

    1. Thanks for your kind words, and for visiting my blog from Pooja’s. That was very kind of her. Honestly, I haven’t had that happen before. You could always reach out to the editor and see if you could get some feedback. I’m sure they’re inundated with submissions, so it’s probably common. I would keep trying though, definitely! And I think it’s wonderful that you’ve had work published on Spillwords too. It’s an honor to me. Thanks again!
