A Potato with a Playful Personality

This positive potato is a tiny little guy
with a big smile and round, black eyes.
Have you seen him before
around town or in a store?
On a spring day is when we met,
a moment I’ll never forget.
He lifts spirits if they are low
making things bright and all aglow.
He’s a simple potato
without complications,
and he never asks
for any explanations.
I actually enjoy his company,
his jolly, friendly vibe –
better than any med
a doctor would prescribe!

  1. What a delightful little poem! This cheerful potato sounds like the perfect companion—simple, uplifting, and full of joy. Sometimes the smallest things (or spuds!) bring the brightest happiness. 🥔😊

  2. Oh my gosh Lauren, Spuds is too cute and what a positive delivered poetic message to complement his cuteness! 🥔😁🥔 Happy Wednesday to you my friend. Hugs and smooches! 🥰🙏🏼💖💋😍

Great idea! It’s funny what pops into our heads when reading someone else’s posts. When I was a child, we used to live across the street from a guy whose name escapes me, who was a practical joker. One Halloween, he gave out baked potatoes. This wasn’t an anti-sugar message or one promoting healthy eating. It was merely because he wanted to see the kids’ reactions. It was the only time I ever came home with a potato when I went trick-or-treating.🤣

  4. that potato will also never get rotten – and love the “go do your thing”

I was recently reading a book (and I need to still share a photo with ally bean blogger because it is where I first read “you are enough” and the saying is showing up everythwere)
anyhow, I am getting rid of even more books this summer (it is time!) and a few of them I decided to skim before sending them to donation.
anyhow, in this awesome book, the author had a tip for anyone “stuck” or anyone with fear – or anyone who made a mistake – and he said remember to ” do the next right thing” – and explained it more – but I love that and your inspiring potato offers a lot of motivation

    1. So true, Yvette! No rotten potatoes here! 🙂 I’m glad you zeroed in on “go do your thing.” I wanted to emphasize that. And I love what you shared, all because my positive potato inspired you. Some gifts just know what to do! Those are wise words to live by. “Do the next right thing.” I’ll remember…Thanks for stopping by! ❤️

  5. Love love love this Lauren 🥰. Such a sweet potato and poem alltogeter! It’s funny how some little things can make a huge difference. Wishing you a bright day with your “friend”!

    1. Thanks, Marie, and I’m happy this post brought some joy. You’re right, it’s funny how little things can make a difference. And I’ve never seen one of these before. I smiled big! Wishing you a great day, my friend! xoxo

  6. I love the Positive Potato, Lauren. Not only is he very cute but he has a lovely spirit. We could all use a bit of light in our lives. I’ve seen him around here and there at art and crafts stalls around Melbourne – and always smile when I see him. Love that yours has a happy little hat 🎉 Lovely poem too. I like when you allude that he is a simple potato that never asks for explanations. He sounds so easy-going. A bit of positivity goes a long way 😊
