You Rock – Own it!

Care less about what others think
Own up to your awesomeness
Nourish your hopes and dreams
Find light, even if it is obscured
Improvise, if necessary
Dance, celebrating the true you
Encourage others who live in darkness
Never give into negative criticism
Calm is always the best choice
Enjoy life by living in your happiness

Everyone owns it, but sometimes it slips out of grip. The truth is even if you feel insecure, looking and acting confident will not only make you feel better, but others will perceive you in that positive way. Walk with your head up, chin up, and notice what and who is around, i.e., be aware of your surroundings. In doing so, you will appear strong to others. The more you practice this, the more confident you’ll feel, which will cause a ripple effect of positive thoughts, emotions, and actions in your life.

On this positive note, I wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving, and let us remember to be thankful not only on this one day, but throughoutΒ the entire year. And with these words, I continue to keep the fire victims in CA in my heart and prayers.

With Love & Friendship, Lauren 🧑🧑🧑

Very inspiring on this Monday morning! Thanks Mom, for sharing these words and keep moving forward. I continue to send out positive thoughts & pray for the CA fire victims & firefighters. Love you, xoxo

    1. Thanks, Steph, for dropping in! You’re the best daughter, supporting your mom’s blog! πŸ™‚ I thought some inspiration would make a good Monday post. Yes, prayers and hopes are abundant for the fire victims. It’s all so unreal and mind-boggling thinking about what they’ve endured…Love you, too, and talk to you soon! ❀❀❀

  2. Excellent tips to rock Lauren! I have never paid much attention to the criticism of people except the thought…critics are our best friends. They acquaint us with our imperfections, inspiring us to introspect. Every morning I tell myself ‘I am awesome’ but I must learn more. Hope has been my perpetual mentor. All this doesn’t mean we don’t encounter the boulders that life offers, monsters that follow us…but life is like that.
    Happy Thanksgiving week.

    1. Thanks, Balroop, and I agree with what you wrote about critics. But I’ll add that there is a fine line between constructive criticism and criticism that knocks people down. I’ve known some people whose insecurity was stronger than their self confidence, so one little negative speck of criticism can act like a hammer coming down hard on a nail. That’s the scenario to avoid, or at the very least, take a deep breath and walk the other way. Unfortunately, some people are jealous and enjoy putting others down so they can feel better about themselves.
On a lighter note, I love that you encourage yourself each morning and that hope is your mentor. You exude strength, Balroop. This is what I’ve noticed from getting to know you here in blogland. I do the same as you, as well as prepping the armor for the boulders that may come. πŸ™‚
Have a blessed Thanksgiving, my friend…

      1. True, criticism knocks people down and do you think I didn’t get knocked down? And then slowly I learnt those lessons of shrugging off and walking away. My poetry says a lot about such people. I had written a post about critics. Here is the link: https://balroop2013.wordpress.com/2016/06/19/what-i-learnt-from-my-critics/
I try to present the positive side and shove negative one away though I have faced a lot of it. Thank you for your lovely words dear Lauren, You too have a wonderful Thanksgiving. πŸ™‚

      2. I just read your wonderful post and it offers great points to this topic. I do agree with you that even from the mean-spirited criticism there is something to learn, whether it be about us personally or about the person dishing it out. And you’re right, I, too, have been knocked down, but I’m not down for long. πŸ™‚ I also like that you try to present the positive side, shoving the negative away. It’s the old adage to focus on the positive. Thanks for chiming in and leading me to your insightful post. In anything in life, there is always room for improvement and more knowledge. 🌻

    1. Aww, you’re very welcome, Chandan! I’m so glad this came in a timely manner for you. Inspiration and Encouragement are never too early or too late. They’re always good to receive. I hope life continues to be uplifting for you, and Happy Thanksgiving!

    1. Thanks for your beautiful comment, Sue, and for your Thanksgiving wishes. We do have so much to be grateful for…there is nothing to complain about when others are suffering in more ways than one. Sending big hugs to you, my friend! πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—

  4. A truly inspirational post. We all need a boost to our confidence once in a while, and this poem is a keeper.
I cannot imagine what those affected by the fire are going through. My heart is heavy for them.
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

    1. Thanks, Michelle, for your kind words, my friend. A boost of confidence is good for everyone. The fire is finally out due to the rains we’ve had, but the recovery is going to be years for those who have lost everything. It’s absolutely mind-boggling to even imagine their lives right now. My heart is still heavy…
You saw the pics on fb, so yes, our Thanksgiving was very nice, and I hope yours was, too. Hugs! πŸ’—

I appreciate your thoughts!
