Sometimes, we find ourselves walking in the wrong directionat a good clip, so preoccupied thatthe gapin the pavementtrips us, tumbling us in. Darkness seizes. Uncertaintyand fearjoin in the huddle. Our bodies paralyzed by fear’s powerful grasp. But thoughts penetrate in the depths of our minds, how strength has always been a constant in our lives where weakness only an acquaintance. So, with great mental bandwidth, our fingers grip eachlittle crevice of gloom like a seasoned rock climber. We move, inching upward, finding ourway out as darknessbegins to dim, andrays from the biggolden ball in the sky warm our shoulders. We revel in our accomplishment, never again underestimating our capabilities, as we joyfully hold the future in our hands.
Enjoy your weekend, Feel empowered, and a Big Thanks to all of you for reading, liking, and commenting throughout the years. Lauren Scott (c) ❤️ Strength photo: Google
To the naked eye, this is just a bulletin board filled with post-it notes. A simple addition to a room, but the simple things can be most meaningful, more profound, more resonating than anything luxurious.
Which one (ones) resonate with you? Help you through the storm? A means for relaxation?
Feel free to take a few off the board if you’re so inclined. 🙂
Happy Saturday! And Happy Mother’s Day weekend to all the wonderful moms out there, and to my mom and mother-in-law whom we miss so much.
I hope your holidays were wonderful in spite of last year’s tumultuous reputation. We enjoyed two long weekends and the festivities, even though quieter than in past years. We missed the big, noisy, family gatherings, but everyone is healthy, so we couldn’t ask for more.
Those who know me well, know that I love sunrises and sunsets, so I had to share a new photo from a recent walk with Copper. Another awe-inspiring sunrise for the rebirthing of a New Year. And speaking of a new year and motivation to reorganize, I am sharing a Balance Sheet of Life (below) that I received from my sister. It has traveled through an email thread, so I don’t know where it originates from. But I thought it offered great food for thought as we begin a new year with optimism that life will be more peaceful for all. I hope you find this balance sheet helpful.
Do any of these concepts stand out for you? Would you care to share? I’ll go first to break the ice. 🙂 Last year, worry and fear took up too much rent space in my head, so my goal is to evict them with gusto! Following their eviction comes Peace of Mind. On a creative note as I lay the groundwork for a new book, I plan to focus on the two most power-filled words, “I Can!” Now if you feel like sharing, it’s your turn! I’d love to hear how this Balance Sheet of Life might benefit you in this new year.

WISHING YOU ALL BRIGHTER DAYS AHEAD, THE COURAGE TO MAKE THE CHANGES NECESSARY FOR YOUR WELL-BEING, AND MANY HUGS TO COME!Lauren xo
Is there a challenge enticing you, but your lack of confidence makes you shy away from even trying? Well, do you realize you are allowing negative voices to control your actions? You are giving them free rent in your brain. How kind of you. Kidding. Only You know what your capabilities are without having anyone remind you, not even yourself! So, you should evict those voices! Now! Don’t wait! But it’s not easy, is it? We’re too quick to second guess ourselves, so we listen…well, listen to this…
Copper thinks he’s a lap dog. He has no idea that he is tall and lean, weighs 75 lbs. and is all muscle. Hence, he is not a lap dog! Truth is, because he’s confident in how he feels and because he sees himself as a chihuahua, he gracefully curls his body and folds his long legs to fit into the tiniest space – especially in the spotlight of the sun. He is the most faithful sun worshiper. And he’ll place himself between two pieces of furniture and lean. Yes, he’s a leaner. He leans on us when he sits next to us. He leans against the sofa and chairs and anything else that will hold his weight.
So, be like Copper and just do what you set your mind to. Don’t second guess yourself. Don’t give those voices free rent anymore! You have more important data to occupy your mind and Dogs really do know best, don’t they? 🙂
Stand tall on your own two feet – don’t give doubt the upper hand. And observe your furry family members who truly know how to live a life of happy!
