Language

I’ve analyzed over and over,
but everything is a circle,
spinning round and round,
a kaleidoscope of confusion,
nothing makes sense.
Will it ever again?

Perhaps, it’s time for a stroll
into the forest,
time for allowing the breeze
to embrace me like the
caressing of a silk scarf,
for the fragrance of the woods
to fill me with reassurance.

I want to be touched by serenity,
to walk among nature’s offerings
and be immersed into the language
of the trees, for the standing giants
have a keen sense of awareness
.

So I will consult them.
I will bring into the open my unease
because they will unselfishly impart
the depth of their logic.

      1. We do, thank you! Much sunnier than the previous week. It was warmer at the start of the week which was great for dealing with a load of firewood to help keep us toasty over the winter. ☀️

      2. Candle and wine sounds lovely! Enjoy. We’re just about to sit down to ‘pizza and movie’ night over here after a “fun” day of amateur plumbing. 😅

    1. Aww, thanks, Cindy, for your lovely words. I hope you’re enjoying your family time. Our son is home from his 7-month drive/work/adventure from east coast to west coast that began in Maine. So we are grateful that he stayed safe the whole time and we’re thrilled to have him home for a few months during the holidays. 🩷

  1. My dear Lauren
Yes indeed the wisdom of nature can help us to come to terms with our worries. Trees have that kind of power to take away thoughts, giving us the space to breath.
    Very nice
    Have a lovely week 🧡

  2. There is nothing like a walk in the woods to soothe the soul. I often try to imagine what my country must have been like before they cut down most of these giants. Beautiful poetry, Lauren.
