About her…

Sometimes, she disappoints
making me feel abandoned

like a puppy in a box
on the side
of a country road.
I feel lost like a planet spinning
in an unfamiliar universe.
Then as miracles would have it,
I sense her presence…
on the rocky trail beside me
as I climb,
splashing in a dewdrop
on a maple leaf,
drifting with downy clouds
suspended in the baby blue sky.
She relaxes on silky peach petals
of the rose in the yard.
She swoons in a song for the heart
on the radio.
She soars with the sun as it ascends
over the vast autumn horizon,
and lingers as it dips
behind the golden summer hills.
Silver ocean waves carry her
as they gently roll in to kiss the shore.
She is quite clever, living in the blessings

and in unexpected tilts and turns
never to abandon me,
but even she needs respite on occasion,
my muse.

      1. Ahh! Perhaps it’s not a desertion…….
Well, I think it’s important to really be alone, stand alone sometimes.
Then we truly know who we are.
When the Muse comes it’s a bonus, a decoration, a revelation.
Not all have Muses. You are fortunate!

(just musing out loud, throwing it out there)

      2. I like what you threw out there, Resa! So true! But when the words seem scarce, it’s frustrating, so I have to stay patient and ‘she’ll’ appear when she’s ready. 🙂 “A bonus, a decoration, a revelation.” Love it! Thank you! xoxoxoxo 🌸🌺

  1. This is so beautiful and resonates so strongly with me. Sometimes I’m just empty and then you slip outside for a walk and the ideas start filtering in. I just got back in town for a long travel and I’m enjoying catching up on my favorite blogs! Hugs, C

    1. Thanks so much, Cheryl, and you described it perfectly! I saw your pics on FB and it looks like a fabulous trip and adventure. I appreciate you catching up, and now I feel guilty because I’m so behind. 🙂 But I’ll get there too. Hugs to you! 🧡🍁
