Canvas in the Sky

The night is warm
Though fall is upon us
Summer’s not willing to go
I’m in awe of the bright sky
With its oranges and pinks
Its beauty is all aglow

Two nights ago, the sunset was
incredible, so I grabbed my cell
and snapped some photos. The dot
in this photo is the beautiful moon,
not the best shot using a cell,
though, still brilliant, and the phase
for 9/23/15 was “waxing gibbous”
with 73% visibility.

I hope you enjoyed this splash of color
and the moon facts I found interesting, too.

Wishing you a wonderful Friday and weekend!

  1. Great phoneography dear Lauren!
The poet’s touch enhanced the intensity of the fiery sunset skies!Loved the presence of the early luminous disc in the pale blue sky and the title of your post too! Hugs & Kissses to you 🙂 ❤ xxx

  2. Beautiful photos of a majestic scene. Your poem is very lovely, as always. I love fall with it’s colors, but often forget to look up to see the sunset. Thanks for sharing this one and the reminder. Hugs.

    1. Thanks so much, Michelle, for such a wonderful complement, and I’m glad you enjoyed this. I think I’m obsessed with the sky because I can’t help but take photos even though I have enough already. 🙂 Hugs to you, too, and have a lovely weekend!

    1. Thanks so much, Scott! They’re not bad from my new cell, but I tried capturing the eclipse last night and those didn’t come out too well. I can’t get enough of sunsets though; they’re so gorgeous…

  3. “Canvas in the sky” – love it! I paint a canvas in the sky – using mosses for pastels, and grass as my ink. Clouds are my water colours and lightening my oil — a mixed media of Heavenly art.
