The night is warm
Though fall is upon us
Summer’s not willing to go
I’m in awe of the bright sky
With its oranges and pinks
Its beauty is all aglow
Two nights ago, the sunset was
incredible, so I grabbed my cell
and snapped some photos. The dot
in this photo is the beautiful moon,
not the best shot using a cell,
though, still brilliant, and the phase
for 9/23/15 was “waxing gibbous”
with 73% visibility.
I hope you enjoyed this splash of color
and the moon facts I found interesting, too.
Wishing you a wonderful Friday and weekend! ♥

Ah, God’s sunsets and sunrises – like an explosion of crayons.
Exactly, Carl; they’re truly awe inspiring!
Spectacular!!! Many times I wish I could add a frame to the sky and hang it on my walls! 😉 Have a wonderful weekend, Lauren! 🙂 xxxx
Thanks, Marina, and you said it perfectly! 🙂 Hugs! ♥

Just beautiful – the poem and the photos. Wow.
Thanks so much, Madeline! I appreciate your visit, too!
Great phoneography dear Lauren!
The poet’s touch enhanced the intensity of the fiery sunset skies!Loved the presence of the early luminous disc in the pale blue sky and the title of your post too! Hugs & Kissses to you 🙂 ❤ xxx
Thanks for your beautiful, poetic comment, Doda! Sunsets are amazing and I probably have a million photos. 🙂 Hugs and kisses back to you, my friend, and Happy Friday! ♥ xo
Beautiful photos of a majestic scene. Your poem is very lovely, as always. I love fall with it’s colors, but often forget to look up to see the sunset. Thanks for sharing this one and the reminder. Hugs.
Thanks so much, Michelle, for such a wonderful complement, and I’m glad you enjoyed this. I think I’m obsessed with the sky because I can’t help but take photos even though I have enough already. 🙂 Hugs to you, too, and have a lovely weekend!
That’s a very nice sky We miss so much when we don’t look.
Thanks, Binky, and you’re so right! Wishing you and the Wombies a great weekend!

I’m glad you did, thanks so much, Ian!
Great brilliant sunset pictures Lauren.
A vibrant sunset like that, normally heralds a beautiful sunrise.
Thanks, Ian, and I’m up early but usually not ready to go outside and snap some pics. 🙂
Oh my, those are awesome Lauren! I got chills when I saw the second one
Thanks so much, Scott! They’re not bad from my new cell, but I tried capturing the eclipse last night and those didn’t come out too well. I can’t get enough of sunsets though; they’re so gorgeous…
You know I love sunsets as well
🙂
I’m glad you enjoyed these! 🙂
🙂
Beautiful poem and photos.
Thanks, Kim! ♥
“Canvas in the sky” – love it! I paint a canvas in the sky – using mosses for pastels, and grass as my ink. Clouds are my water colours and lightening my oil — a mixed media of Heavenly art.
Thanks so much and your canvas definitely sounds like Heavenly art! Gorgeous!
Can’t be anything but when you consider the Artist! grin. Thank-you.
I’m grinning and you’re welcome! ♥
