Let there be peace in the world,
more laughter and love for our boys and girls.
Let goodwill and kindness, no matter your color,
be spread through the hearts of our brother.
Let compassion pour through our words and actions,
pulling all violence from our media attractions.
Let there be peace in the world,
to end all suffering for our boys and our girls.

(This is more of a plea than a poem)
Thanks so much for stopping by and
have a wonderful weekend! ♥
Amen!!
Thanks, Hiibaa! I’m glad you agree with me!
Beautifully written. Lets pray for power in your words.
Thanks, always, Kim, for your words of praise and lets keep praying…
Amen!
Thanks, Michelle!
Amen to that, Lauren! xo
Thanks, Deb! If only…but we can keep our prayers going..Hugs, my friend! xo
That would be very nice.
I know, it sure would, Binky! Have a nice Sunday and thanks for your comment!
I join you in that hope
I’m glad you do, Ian! The more people, the more power to change things…thanks!
If only your hope could come true. Have to say I take great hope from our experience here in Ireland where peace seemed out of the question but is now a reality.
I know, if only, Jean…and I’m glad Ireland has found peace. It seems things are just getting worse in the USA and other parts of the world and I don’t know what the answer is…
I love how you have composed this Lauren, the alternate lines as a list of things to be done and the consequences in italics. Both sets of lines can be read separately and I think that is what makes this poem so powerful. Just wonderful. And even if all we are able to do is write about it as you have done and share with the world then we are doing our best to spread love and peace. I think on a greater scale it is something we can feel very powerless over. ❤️ Xxx
Thanks so much for your insight, Chris. It’s really very simple, but I thought the message was powerful enough to share with the world. 🙂 I’m at a loss as to what the answer is to bring peace into our world and push the violence out. I’d like to think of myself as a hopeful, optimistic person, but I’m on the same page with you feeling very powerless overall. I just keep praying and hoping someday the news will share a great big miracle…♥
Such a simple thing to do… met with such resistance. Makes no sense to me.
It makes no sense to me, either, Steve, but I appreciate your comment..
harmoniously beautiful!
Thanks so much, Millie, for your lovely comment. Enjoy your Sunday! ♥
Amen to that Lauren.
Thanks, Joe! I’m glad we’re on the same page! Now if we only had the answers! 🙂
Simply beautiful!
Thank you, my friend…hope you’re having a great Sunday! xx
My Sunday was great! Almost over now… (it’s 23:39 here) Hope your Sunday is nice too 😉 xx
Mine still is, too! It’s almost 3pm here. 🙂 Lovely time zones! Okay, have a wonderful Monday then! xx
Thank you! Xx
This is a nice poem, coming especially in times when there is so much chaos and divisiveness!
Thanks so much, Rodrick. I appreciate your kind words and visit. If only the chaos would turn to peace very soon.
May your plea be heard all around the world! Maybe if we can convince ourselves to remember that peace is for children as much as for us, there will be a chance….
xo
Thanks, K! I think if we put your suggestion into action, we might see positive changes…xo
Adding my prayer to your beautiful verse Lauren. God bless.
Thanks so much, Madhu, the more prayers, the more hopeful and a better possibility that things might change…Hugs and blessings to you!
Amen, my dear friend. XO ❤

A very beautiful poem. I love it. Let there be peace. But for peace to exist you need two sides to like each other before living together.
or rather accept the existence of one another.
I replied to you before reading this, so yes, we’re on the same page of thinking. 🙂 Wishing you a lovely weekend, my friend…
Very true and I wish that could happen. I just wish everyone could accept each other for who they are and agree to disagree, if that’s the case. It sounds so simple, but it’s not…xx
Your poem is a plea, as you say, to connect with our better selves and create the kind of world that all are able to enjoy. It is especially difficult to accept the insidious presence of violence in our culture and media. A well-spoken plea for harmony and peace. Thanks.
Thanks so much, Mark, for your wonderful comment and complement. My plea fits perfectly again after finding out today of the other journalist who was killed by ISIS. So horrific..
I so hope and pray for more laughter and Peace in the world.. especially for the younger generation to follow. x
We’ll just keep hoping and praying; that’s all we can do. xo
