“Fade the Shadow” is published on Gobblers by Masticadores!

Dear Family and Friends,

Fade the Shadow

The world is beautiful,
proof dances all around…
leaves fluttering in a breeze,
butterflies floating by
with grace, but the world
is more beautiful with him.
Even if the sky unfolds,
and a storm rages,
his presence adds a glow
to fade the shadows
and quiet the fear.
If the universe
has stolen my spirit
and descent
is imminent

An unexpected surprise and more at Brian’s today!

It’s going to be a beautiful Saturday. Hubby and I woke up around 6:30 am. He made the coffee, and since we’re going to an apple fair today, I wanted to check my blog and social media before we left. The coffee bean aroma swirled from the kitchen into the living room. So, I poured me a cup, then sat down and said “good morning” to my laptop. I saw that Brian left me a ping back awaiting my approval. He is a wonderful writer – entertaining, humorous, but also thought-provoking. Each week, he shares three blessings, and he does this because the world can be crazy at times…and in today’s post, he mentions my book, King Copper. Of course this made my day, but his blessings are great reminders to focus on the positive as the ‘noise’ rumbles around us. Simply click on the link below to be gently transported to his insightful blog. If you don’t know Brian, take your time. You’ll discover tidbits that won’t disappoint. Thanks again, Brian! I appreciate your support! 🙏

My book is available on Amazon,Barnes and Noble, and Kobo (e-book only):

“The Middle” published on Gobblers by Masticadores

Dear Family and Friends,

I’m excited to share that my poem “The Middle” is live today on Gobblers by Masticadores! To give you a little back story, when I wrote this poem, life had changed tragically for a family member. Since then, there have been many improvements which I believe are miracles. But life still isn’t the same and a daunting question mark hangs in the future. Our family continues with positive thoughts and prayers. And I want to offer a huge thank you, as always, to Editor, Manuela Timofte, for featuring my writing.

The Middle

It doesn’t matter if we’re celebrating
the best thing that ever happened,
or staring at our heart lying on the floor
in millions of tiny pieces.
Time moves ahead (seemingly)
as if we pushed the fast forward button.
Those hands on the analog clock
have a mind of their own,
turning and turning, making our heads spin,
wondering where the hours have gone.
Where have the hours gone?
How does a decade ago feel like yesterday?
Why does my mind tell me I’m forty
when my driver’s license tells me I’m wrong?
Just yesterday, my daughter and son
played with Lego and Barbies.
Today they’re adulting, living with
bills that show up in the mailbox
on a monthly basis. Always prompt.
Just yesterday, I took my last photo
of our senior pup, not knowing
it would be the last photo
I would take of him.

Beth gives Cora’s Quest a glowing review!

Dear Family and Friends,

I was thrilled to find another fabulous review for Cora’s Quest this morning from my good friend, Beth at https://ididnthavemyglasseson.com/. She includes the subtle significance of Cora’s story that is not only for children, but adults would find it important too. A huge thanks to Beth! I’m celebrating and happy dancing once again! 🎉💃

On her journey, Cora learns that along with the joys come challenges, as she begins to navigate the world around her, remembering the lessons her family has taught her, and gaining confidence along the way, finding a final happy resolution. What a wonderful book to read to your child and what great discussions could follow.

Hello, I am the mother of grown daughters, with grandchildren galore, an enthusiastic dater, a lover of the arts, a teacher, a cupcake maker, a Twister and Trivia champ, and most of all, a keen observer of life.  I enjoy being a part of the twists and turns that occur while wandering through everyday events. Many of these happenstances leave me asking, “Why?”  While I have been told, more than once, that the reason things have or haven’t happened in my life is because I had no glasses on, rest assured that even if I did have my glasses on, the answers would quite often be unclear. This site is simply an observation, and while blurry at times, an honest attempt to make some sense of it all. Enjoy the ride – Beth

Lastly, I want to thank everyone who has supported me by purchasing a copy of Cora’s Quest and who has shared their lovely review on Amazon and/or Goodreads. I am grateful beyond words! ❤️🙏

Gobblers by Masticadores publishes “Baseballs”

Dear Friends,

I’m thrilled to announce that my poem “Baseballs” is published today on Gobblers by Masticadores. A huge thank you to Editor, Manuela Timofte, for sharing my work on her highly regarded literary site.

Baseballs

One day the sun guides you
with its glorious rays,
the world spins
in its usual manner,
then out of thin air,
in the blink of an eye,
the cliché is yours,
under a sullen sky,
plans become fractured.

Life is altered
in a skipped heartbeat
that was slow to join
the rhythm of the others.
My emotions
feel awkward.
They seem wilder,
body feels heavy
as though pewter
crowds my veins…

To read the full poem, please visit Gobblers by clicking on the link below,
and if you’re not already subscribed,
please follow Manuela’s wonderful site for a rich poetry experience.

Thanks so much for visiting, and have a wonderful week ahead! ❤️
