** An acrostic is a piece of writing in which a particular set of lettersβ€”typically the first letter of each line, word, or paragraphβ€”spells out a word or phrase with special significance to the text. Acrostics are most commonly written as a form of poetry, but they can also be found in prose or used as word puzzles. While the most common type of acrostic is one formed by the initial letters of each line, there are many different types of acrostics with letters in different positions.

We’re heading for the trail this morning for a hike (my first since dealing with health changes in the last year).
So, if you can, get outdoors to inhale the fragrance of nature and enjoy!

Have a lovely Saturday and weekend!

    1. Thanks, Darlene! We did and almost 2 miles. You may read about it in a blog post. πŸ™‚ Pain changes things with its limitations, so I’m grateful. I’m glad you liked the poem! Have a good weekend!

    1. Thanks for your lovely words, Cindy. It was good to finally get on the trail again after a year of figuring out how to live and combat the new pain. I felt so happy that I could do it! Thanks to the epidural. Life isn’t as doom and gloom as it was when it all began. Enjoy your Sunday! 🩷

  1. That you can get out and hike is indeed worth of a poem and celebration, Lauren. “Abandon heavy burdens in mind,” Living in and enjoying the present.

    1. Thanks, Curt! It felt good to get on the trail again, moving in the right direction. It took a year, but that’s okay. I’m glad you enjoyed the poem. Enjoy the outdoors wherever you and Peggy are!

    1. The hike was wonderful, Carol, and even though it took a year to figure out how to manage the new pain, life is much brighter now. It felt so good to get on the trail again! I’m happy you liked the poem. Enjoy the rest of your weekend! 🩷

  2. A beautiful ode to the sun, Lauren! I enjoyed hearing you recite it, too. I hope you’re having a lovely weekend. I hope the hike goes well for you!

    1. Thanks for your kind words about the poem, Steve, and I’m glad you enjoyed listening to my recitation. The hike went well and it felt good to get on the trail again, and with no pain which is a miracle. πŸ™‚ Happy Sunday, my friend. 🌞

  3. What a lovely acrostic, Lauren, and I enjoyed listening to your recitation. I am glad to see you hiking again.πŸ’•

  4. Excellent Lauren!

The idea of an acrostic puts one in a peg hole, with the poem.

This is one of the best I’ve heard! (I had to listen, esp. after hearing you on the podcast!)

    1. Wow, thanks, Resa! This poem is actually a revised oldie! I haven’t written a new acrostic in a while. Maybe it’s time again. πŸ™‚ But I’m so glad you liked this one! β€οΈπŸŒ»πŸ€—πŸ˜ŽπŸŒž
