Whispers enter dreams
the endless highway calls
the golden ball soon will rise
Eagles “Take it Easy”
under bluest of skies
No one can discern what lies
beyond the other side
but adventures flow
through veins
where options open wide
The road whispers its plea
utters promises
a direction leading to peace
worries tossed to the wind
seeking sweet release
Rolling along at sixty
trees sway in the breeze
golden lupine line the lane
moving free and easy
exciting chance to entertain
Time waits for no one
don’t assume there is more
live fully before it’s taken –
past the long stretch ahead
shines a light to awaken
Whispers enter dreams
the endless highway calls
the golden ball is rising
Eagles “Take it Easy”
a call for improvising

I love this line so much. Yes, we don’t know how much time we have and it’s so important to seek those experiences that bring us joy and challenge us.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts that align with my poem, Bridgette. I appreciate your visit. Have a good day! 💕
A beautiful poem and photo. Lauren. Your photo reminded me of the Eternal Road.
Thanks so much for your kind words, John, and you’re right, the photo sure does. 🙂
I’ve always heard endless noise from the highway… vehicles whooshing. I have to step away to hear the whispers but they become different. Thanks for sharing this new perspective Lauren. I hear you.
It’s nice to hear different perspectives, Balroop. It’s enlightening in a way, and I’m ready to get on the road. 🙂 Thanks for sharing your thoughts…
Hi Lauren, only a person who lives in a big country which has long stretches of lonely road would write a poem like this. I feel exactly the same way.
I’m glad my poem resonated with you, Robbie. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. 💗
As I am currently planning our next road trip, this is perfect.
Wow, I’m happy my timing is good, Janice. Have a wonderful trip! I’m ready, too. 🙂
Wonderful poem Lauren.. Indeed no one knows what lies beyond the other side…. But the journey getting there is never boring… Here’s to where Eagles fly and to where we find those resting stops along the highway..
Have a wonderful week Lauren.. ❤ Hugs Sue x
Thanks so much, Sue, for your lovely words. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead, too. Big hugs, dear friend. ❤️🌺

Thanks, Debby. I’m ready for that road trip. 🙂 💞
A road really does whisper possibilities as you make your journey doesn’t it?
I think it does, Ian, and I’m glad you do, too. 🙂 Thanks for commenting!
A perspective on the road, on life as it comes. A beautiful way to let us hear the whispers that guide us Lauren.
I enjoyed it a lot.
Stay well
Thanks for your beautiful comment, Marie, and I’m so glad you liked this poem and heard those whispers, too. 🙂 By the way, I’ve missed some of your posts because I can’t translate. Sometimes, I’m given the option, but lately, I haven’t been. So, if you know how to do this, please let me know. I’m at a loss. 💞
