To the naked eye,
this is just a bulletin board
filled with post-it notes.
A simple addition to a room,
but the simple things
can be most meaningful,
more profound,
more resonating
than anything luxurious.
Which one (ones) resonate with you?
Help you through the storm?
A means for relaxation?
Feel free to take a few off the board if you’re so inclined. 🙂
Happy Saturday! And Happy Mother’s Day weekend to all the wonderful moms out there, and to my mom and mother-in-law whom we miss so much.
Lauren Scott ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Lauren, This is a great reminder and I keep all sorts of messages around me. Sometimes the right message gravitates to my eyes when I need it the most. My latest from your list may be ‘pitch a tent.’
I’m glad you enjoyed this reminder, Erica. I thought seeing these on a daily basis would be fun and beneficial. We’re working on our backpacking trip for July, so we’ll be pitching a tent soon. 🙂 Thanks for popping in! 🌺
Excited to hear about your backpacking trip, Lauren. We have a camping trip planned, too in a few weeks. Yay!😀
Great! Cheers to “living” and experiencing the outdoors! 🏕🥰
All these notes speak to me Lauren but mountains are calling is my favorite. A retreat in the Himalayas each summer has been my best holiday but it seems too far now. 🙂 Have fun.
Aww, that one is my hubby’s favorite, too, and one of mine. Our favorite destination when we’re eager to “get away.” Wow, a retreat in the Himalayas sounds amazing. I’m not eager to travel far right now either, except to the east coast to see the kids later this year. 🙂 Thanks for joining in, Balroop, and I’m glad all these spoke to you. Take care! 🌻
I have a board like yours and one message on it that is my favourite reads:
“If you are waiting to be asked to help, you are as bad as the one who refuses to help.”
Thank you, Lauren.
Joanna
I just created this board, Joanna, and thought it would be fun and good to see each day, and to also share here. By the way, that’s a great quote. Thanks for sharing and for stopping by. 🌺
I should have “Time to Write” tattooed on the back of my hand since it seems it is always “Time to Write.” Excellent post. Lauren.
I agree, John. Always time to write! Thanks so much and I’m glad you liked the board.
Yes it was terrific.
A very heartwarming post, Lauren. I love all the notes. Especially ‘Choose happy’. Happy Mother’s Day to you too, love🌹💐😊. Stay blessed ❤️🌻😊🌺🌷🍫
Thanks so much, Diana, and Choose Happy is a good one, isn’t it? 🙂 I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day, too. Hugs! 💗🌻💜
Love them all! ❤ Happy Mother's Day, Lauren! xo
I’m so glad you liked this board, Bette, and I hope your Mother’s Day was terrific! ❤️❤️
“Have faith” will always remain at the top of my notes. Happy Mother’s Day, Lauren!
I try to live by those two words also, Jill. Thank you! 🌻
I love post it notes when we want to bring awareness into parts of our lives. My favorite on my board is “is my heart open or closed? Thanks for the reminder Lauren 💕
They sure come in handy, don’t they, Val? I like your “question” too. Thanks for sharing and I’m glad you can relate to these reminders. 💗
Hard to choose but eventually “be grateful” covers many of those enjoyments.
It’s interesting to learn which ones resonate the most to everyone. So far, each has been different, along with yours. But they’re all part of an ongoing thread of encouragement and wisdom to carry us through life. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Ian!
One day at a time, don’t lose hope and be grateful are, I would think, the most needed notes for all. In other words, living purposeful days without losing hope of better tomorrows and being grateful for everything. Are you not doing the same already?
Hi Raj, I am definitely living as you mentioned. One or a few of these resonate for each person, and most have been different from the rest. So, it’s interesting to learn what’s important to others, and I’m grateful that friends are sharing here, including you. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
I’ll take a couple of those and add “Nerves of Steel” to the board! Great calming notes, Lauren 🙂
Ooh, I love “Nerves of Steel” too, Barbara. I may add it if you don’t mind. 🙂 There are so many great words of wisdom, and I just may need a larger board! I’m glad you enjoyed and thanks for sharing your thoughts, too. 🌹
Exactly, my dearest Lauren, it’s the simple things, that’s why I always go back to the basics and “just breathe” – this imho, encapsulates everything else 😉
Happy Mother’s Day [every day!] and happy new week ahead! xoxoxoxoxoxoxo
I’m happy to hear you agree, Marina. And as I wrote to Ian, everyone’s replies have been different. All of these are great, but everyone has chosen a different one that speaks to them personally. It’s really been fun and interesting. Thanks, dear friend, and we got through Monday! 🙂
Hugs! 💜💗❤️💜💗❤️
Very true!
Many many hugs back!
❤🤗❤🤗❤
Choose chocolate.
Oh, my, how could I forget chocolate? I’ll be sure to add it to the board, Binky. Don’t give up hope. 🙂
Lauren, love the variety of these inspirational post-it notes and ‘Jump in a Lake’ stands out for me after two years of swimming neither in the sea nor in lakes! Hope you’ve had a very special Mother’s Day! xx
I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed this inspirational board, Annika. I’ll be jumping in the lake in July when we backpack again. 🙂 So I know how you feel.
My Mother’s Day was bittersweet without any kids at home, but my hubby made it special, and we zoomed with the kids for 2 hours! Next best thing! I hope you had a wonderful day, too. 💗 💗💗
Thank you, Lauren. I’d love to snag them all, but I don’t want to be greedy. I think I’ll take, “Just Breathe.”
🙂
You’re so kind to be considerate, Mark. 🙂 And “Just Breathe” is essential and a timeless motto. Thanks for stopping by and take care!
I love them all, Lauren. I frequently use affirmations that center around… “don’t sweat the small stuff.” I tend to get carried away my self-imposed deadlines and “shoulds.” I forget to breathe, to smell the roses, to enjoy family and friends. Not getting fixated on the small stuff is wonderfully freeing. I love your bulletin board. I need one of those! A lovely positive post, my friend. ❤
I’m happy you liked my board, Diana. In making small changes in the kids rooms now that we’ve ventured into the empty nester phase, I found my son’s board and thoughts of writing inspirational phrases/words on post-its came to mind. The board hangs above the desk. So, who doesn’t need daily reminders? I also love your “don’t sweat the small stuff” and I’m surprised I forgot about that since the book sits comfortably in my book case. I totally understand how you feel. It’s so easy to get swept away, to forget to breathe. I’m going to squeeze in another post-it with that phrase. The board is shrinking. Thanks for your kind words and have a great day! Hugs! 💗
Ha ha. Your “board is shrinking.” Enjoy the empty nester phase. Do you have grandkids? I found that the empty nest became super busy fast when that happened. 😀
Yes, there are so many inspiring phrases and words that a bigger board may be needed. 🙂 And that’s a good thing! No grandkids, which is fine. The timing isn’t right just yet. But between work, wrapping up my book, interior house painting that I enjoy, husband, and dog, I’m keeping busy. 🙂 And, of course, we Zoom and talk to the kids often. Oh, I can just imagine how busy the nest becomes when grandkids come along. That will be another wonderful chapter. Have a good evening! 🥰
😀
Lots of inspiration here! I have one on my board: “Don’t be a Ricky.” I wrote a post about this long ago. Basically, if you can, choose to be a Lucy rather than a Ricky… choose fun whenever possible.
Thanks, Janis, and I love your quote! I’m a big fan of Lucy, so that is perfect. Like I “told” Diana, my board is shrinking! 🙂 I’m still amazed that everyone who commented had a different favorite, and then some people (like you) shared their own. Thanks for joining in and have a good weekend! 🌺
One day at a time is my mantra. It’s the only way I can function. ❤
That has always been my mantra, too, Debby. Thanks for stopping by. Hugs!
