Their eyes see twinkling magic
Unaware of worldwide discord.
Children, innocent in youth,
Show how joy can be restored.
Let their wonder guide and excite
With their eager anticipation –
Let our worries fall to the floor
As we welcome exultation.
Christmas memories from when our son and daughter were little are still so vivid – how they became excited awaiting the rooftop-arrival of Santa Claus and Dasher & Dancer & Prancer & Vixen & Comet & Cupid & Donner & Blitzen & Rudolph!!!
They were my little helpers in the kitchen baking cut-out sugar cookies for Santa and we made sure to leave a bowl of carrots for his reindeer to chomp on.
Those were magical times of make believe, yet times also for believing. πππ
May we hold that magic of innocence and our inner child in our hearts during this holiday season. ππ

Lovely pictures of the little ones, Lauren. Merry Christmas.
Thanks so much, John, and Merry Christmas to you. ππ
So cute! I still have pictures from my childhood Christmases. I’m sure your kids will treasure these too.
Thanks, Janis. They’re precious keepsakes, aren’t they? My kids do treasure these old photos and ornaments. What’s funny is when they say that they feel old. π Wishing you a wonderful holiday season. π
Precious memories, lovely Lauren. Xxx ππΈπ
Thanks so much, Jane. Wishing you a lovely week, dear friend. πππ
The years go by so fast. Well, maybe not this year.
I think you’re right, Binky. Hope all is well in Wombania!
Perfect title, Lauren… time is “Twinkling Magic” and Magic are those two faces!!! Many hugs! xoxoxo
Aww, thanks, Marina. If only we would view Christmas through the eyes of children. Maybe some of that magic would return. And I have to agree with you – those two faces are magic. π Sending much love and a zillion hugs your way! ππππππβ¨β¨β¨
Oh, but I think you have retained that innocence in your vision, my sweet friend! π

Lauren, a beautiful message for this Christmas, one that is so different from all those before. Youβre right, not to lose the magic of the celebration and Iβm working to bring it alive this Christmas Eve for our much smaller than usual gathering … saving the big get together for Summertime! I adore your images here and your two children look beautiful and ever so keen for the festivities to being! Wishing you peace and joy this Christmas, Lauren! Hugs, Annika xx β€οΈ
Thanks so much, Annika, for such a lovely comment. I think for this holiday season it’s especially important that we find that magic, even if we have to search for it through the wonder and excitement of little ones around us. Our celebration will be small, too, but not small in love and festivities. Just missing our daughter and SIL, and other family. Hopefully, normalcy will return sooner than later. Wishing you the same and sending holiday hugs your way. ππππ
Lauren, Iβm so taken with your words of the celebrations βnot small in love and festivitiesβ! Just so! A wonderful attitude and one that hopefully will be replicated in many households. Hugs xx
Thanks again, Annika! πππ
I remember as a child the custom being to have Santa deliver presents to the foot of our bed during the night. What an exciting time it was to wake up early and feel around the foot of the bed for the pillow case load of presents we’d find there. As I recall the practice of presents under a tree came much later as we grew up. We did see however that Santa was well supplied with a drink and some biscuits which were strangely absent when we’d head for the kitchen after opening our presents. π
What a wonderful memory, Ian, and thanks for sharing. It’s those memories that keep our inner child’s excitement and wonder alive. πβ¨
Lovely post, Lauren. Makes me nostalgic for the days when my kids were little. The years go by so fast….fun to reminisce. ππ
Thanks, Betty, and I feel the same way. Their little personalities full of wonder and excitement sure make the season brighter. ClichΓ© as that sounds. π Sending love and hugs! πππ
No such thing as clichΓ¨ when we’re talking about our kids, right? π I remember seeing Christmas through their eyes and feeling like a kid again myself. β€β€ So much fun!! πβππ
