Belonging

January 21, 1989

Do you trust me?
Will you take my hand
and let me lead the way
to a place transcending
the boundaries of our reality?
Let us get lost in tranquility –
dancing to the majesty
of the surroundings,
feeling the rhythm
vibrate through our bones.
For as long as our hearts desire,
this is our destination.
Time is but a memory.
Its existence leaves no trace
on the path where we tread.
There is only you, me,
and the intensityΒ

of our belonging
to each other.

    • Aww, thank you for your deep and beautiful comment, Balroop. We’re close to celebrating 32 years, not quite like you and your love celebrating 43, but still to be treasured. Where has all the time gone? πŸ™‚
      Stay blessed. 🌷

    • Thanks, Betty! I know, it’s fun to look back in time, isn’t it? It does seem like yesterday, though. πŸ™‚ Thanks for the hugs and sending some back to you! Happy weekend, too! πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“

  1. Lauren, We are celebrating a wedding anniversary in a few days and I am feeling nostalgic and grateful. I also feel I have been living in β€œ…a place transcending the boundaries of our reality…”. Tears brimming, reading your poem. Beautiful.❀️

    • That’s exactly how I’m feeling, Erica, with our 32nd coming up in January. Congrats to you and your hubby, too! You and I are blessed, but we don’t take it for granted. Gratitude overpowers, warming the heart and soul. Thank you so much for your lovely comment and visit. πŸ’•

I appreciate your thoughts!
