There’s nothing like…

covid humor

More fires rage, the pandemic isn’t going away soon, and political and social unrest remains. So, everywhere we go, whether on a stroll around the neighborhood or a walk around the house, it’s the little things that have the ability to quell the anxiety if we give them the opportunity. XOXO

    1. Thanks, dear Jane. I’m happy you enjoyed these little things. Especially in times like these, we need to be more cognizant of those tiny pebbles of joy. Hugs ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿฅฐ

  1. I love your mug (and Jill’s too) and your sunflowers are lovely. I’m saddened about the new fires flaring up. Some friends had to evacuate from their winery and are awaiting news on its fate (it doesn’t look good). With so much turmoil, it’s important for our peace of mind to find calm and reasons to smile.

    1. Thanks, Janis! That mug is a fun accessory that sits on my writing desk. And sunflowers are so happy, aren’t they? You can’t help but smile. I hope your friend’s home is okay. A friend of mine who had a home/vineyard in Napa just lost everything. Decades of memories gone. It’s beyond heartbreaking. And our red flag warning continues through tomorrow evening. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ Doing posts like this one is cathartic for me because sometimes I feel a sense of dread from all the turmoil, as you said. It’s an unsettling mindset to linger in. One day at time always holds true. ๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒป

  2. Hi Lauren – these little things are the things I like, too! Love the covid humor. We need that as much as anthing. There’s so much going on right now – it’s too much unless we focus on these small pleasures.

    1. I’m so glad you liked these tiny tidbits of happy, Barbara! When I saw that tree on a walk, I had to snag a photo. How can we live through all the turmoil without a little dash of humor?! Take care, dear friend..

    1. I agree with you, Marina, and I’m glad you enjoyed these little things. Hope you had a good week. Mine was super busy, but tomorrow is Friday. Yay! Many hugs to you, too. ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—

      1. Likewise and heading to a busy weekend too but… thankfully there are the little things! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Many hugs and wishes for a beautiful weekend! ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿค—

  3. Thank you, Lauren!
Gratitude has been an important tool to get my mind back on track when fear arises. Appreciating the beauty and connection around us is healing. I love your pictures, especially the covid tree mask. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. You’re welcome, Lisa. I’m feeling the same with all the turmoil. Sometimes, I’m overwhelmed and almost feel a sense of dread, which isn’t a comfortable place to be. So, if we find those little things that make us smile or bring joy, we can muddle through the overgrown and ugly weeds that much easier. ๐Ÿ™‚ I thought that tree was so cute, too, and I’m glad I was able to get a quick pic. We can’t lose our sense of humor or we’ll lose the battle. Stay safe! ๐ŸŒป

Lauren, you have a beautiful way with words. I feel refreshed with your reminder and ready to find joy in my day. Stay safe.

    1. Thanks for your lovely words, Mary Lee. It looks like we have smoky air again, but at least we don’t have fires threatening our safety. Knock on wood. Stay safe, too. xo

  5. I love your photos and sentiment, Lauren. A good book to take you away with a nice cuppa will do it every time. Take care and stay safe. โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ
