  1. Nothing like a nice cup of tea to perk one up, I reckon.

Lisa does not take sugar – as she is sweet enough. Many years ago, she convinced me that I too had enough sugar to last me a life time. We both don’t sugar. LOL!

  2. Ahhh…Lauren, such a pretty picture and verse. There is something magical about a proper afternoon tea…an invitation for secrets to be revealed, worrying about the uninvited sorrow, though. Xx

    • Thanks so much, Annika. It is a soothing thought, isn’t it? It’s too bad many of us can’t gather for an afternoon someday for a spot of tea and delicious cookies. I think it would be such fun. I like what you said about secrets to be revealed, and yes, sometimes sorrow wiggles in, too. ❤

    • Thanks so much, Michelle. I just mentioned to Annika that it would be such fun if many of us could gather for tea and cookies. 🙂 During a somber moment, I became inspired, and so this poem was born. I can’t really go into the “why” here, though, but email is good if you’d like to “talk” more…thanks again for your lovely comment. Sending hugs 💕
p.s. I agree about the tea and sugar. 🙂

  3. A poignant tea with “sorrow invites itself”. That line stands out for me and “flavors” your poem with added depth.
I must add, the cookies look delicious. Indeed, no sugar needed in tea either. Dunking the cookies is quite enough, if I may. 🙂 ❣️

  4. A very lovely picture and poem, Lauren. The sad mingles so subtly in it. I admit to take sugar in my tea! Lol! Not with green tea though. 😊 There’s sometimes nothing better than enjoying a cuppa with some delicious cookies, it kind of vitalizes the soul and mind. Hugs&love! 💕

    • Thanks so much, Sarah! It’s okay to take sugar in your tea, too. I use it for my coffee. 😀 And yes, what is better than tea and cookies? I actually love cookies too much. I wish they could be a staple in my daily meals. Sending much love to you! 💗🍪☕🌻😀
