Breathing Space

breathing space

I strolled along the sandy path
Feeling welcomed by the scenery

The ocean was like a soothing bath
Its melody, a gorgeous delivery
The sand was warm against my feet
The silence, a desired retreat

The wind hugged gently as can be
The seagulls danced along the tide
Like children playing with innocent glee
Sharing their laughter with nothing to hide
I embraced, with zest, this heavenly day
While worries gratefully slipped away

  1. Delightful writing on the beauty of the oceans pleasures, you described it wonderfully.
Ana and I just returned from a great ocean visit, will get around to posting on it, a visit to the seaside does give a great healing sense of well being.
You obviously enjoy the oceans pleasures Lauren.
    Kind regards.

    1. Thanks so much, Ian, and I look forward to your post, too. We love the mountains and ocean; they both offer wonderful sources of relaxation and serenity. Have a wonderful day!

  2. I should adopt this lovely poem for my “Ikaria” post to reinforce the sceneries.

    1. It would go nicely with your post, wouldn’t it? Thanks so much, Doda, for always leaving such graceful comments. I hope you’re having a wonderful day, as well! Many hugs! 🌻

  3. Beautiful visuals struck here Lauren. This visual and your words take me back to my days living by the sea. More recently I live by the lake and love my frequent walks along the shorts, inspired by the striking beauty, comforted by the tranquility and rejuvenated by the exertion and exhilaration.

Comforted too by the constant of lapping waves which carry silent messages for all tomorrows.
