  1. My words yesterday were “intensive care” and yes they are doing to me exactly what you described. Hopefully though he will push back!

  2. Sometimes I feel the weight has to become so very heavy before we summon the strength to haul ourselves back up again. Its almost as if we don’t realise until that weight is so heavy that we fear we are about to drown and it is then sink or swim time. And then we realise how much we want to swim!

Beautifully said Lauren in simple but profound words ❤ HBL XX

    1. Chris, when you mentioned that the weight has to just about become so heavy that it’s either sink or swim, that’s how I believe, too. I imagine many would feel the same way…thanks so much, my friend! Big Hugs! xoxo

  3. Words can weigh down heavy – as they can lift us up

Push back, yes — or let it slip — or, hit it back to the server

Whatever we do, it says much about us, I reckon

    1. Very true, Eric, and it’s always good to push back…but I do believe words can be much more hurtful than actions. Words affect our mind and hearts, so we tend to analyze…most of the time, we can heal from physical hurts…and yes, whatever our reaction is says a lot about our character..thanks for contributing!

  4. I LOVE it, Lauren.
By the way, that’s why Pilates is very important to me lately : I wanna build MUSCLE to get stronger. lol
I would have loved to learn your poems at school (when I was younger and learned English). It’s such a beautiful language. But I feel lucky because I know many poems from the greatest French writers… 🙂 Hugo and Baudelaire were my favorite.

    1. Thanks so much, Cha! Your energy is awesome; it’s vibrating through my screen and I guess I should do Pilates? 🙂 Thank you for your kind words about my poems, but I don’t know the French poets you mentioned…I’ll have to do some research! I’ve always thought French is probably the most beautiful language… Merci! xx

      1. Ohhh they’re amazing. And thank YOU!!
I hate sports. Running is not for me.. but I started Pilates 3 months ago and I feel so good! It’s sometimes hard but “Sore today, strong tomorrow” 🙂

  5. Words hurt so much more than a fist in the guts; in fact it feels like a real hit, when you just wana cry but choke on it. Coz the people around may think “oh it was nothing, why are you hurting?”

    1. I agree, Eve…as I mentioned above, words affect our hearts and minds, then our emotions take over, which could be dangerous. Usually, we can heal from physical “hurts” and move on…this all depends on the circumstances, of course..thanks so much for your comment! 🙂

    xo

    1. Oh, Kathryn, I’m so sorry to hear this and will keep you and your parents in my thoughts and prayers…I love for my poems to be timely, but more in a positive way! 🙂 Sending hugs!

Wow, I can really relate to this one, Lauren, and you said it beautifully … thank you. Sending love and hugs your way! xoxox

  10. For me this captures the essence of writing … I always hope it will come lightly and easily, but it is certainly the weight of the words, of what I want to express, that makes me push back and somehow bear them up and hopefully give them wings. Beautiful. XO ♥

    1. Oh, Diane, your perspective is lovely and very different from my purpose of writing this, but also a very positive one…thanks for sharing, my friend. You gave proof that we all perceive things in different ways and there is always a bright side. 🙂 Much love and many hugs to you! ♥

      1. It’s just how it affected me, although I had a feeling it was not what you had in mind when you wrote it. So, you see how words, once written, once shared, have a life of their own. XO
