Uncharted

Will new doors
dare to open
if what they reveal
is unexpected?

A chance worth taking
to feel more connected
or a daunting challenge
when one feels dejected

For those who live in darkness
afraid to embrace the light
believing darkness
is their only right

Then despair settles with dust
on the lonely shelf
leaving Hope to wonder
where the entry is
to redeem itself

  1. What a beautiful poem, which really spoke to me today.
    ‘A chance worth taking
    to feel more connected
    or a daunting challenge
    when one feels dejected’

But, as Christine wrote, there is trust/faith in risk, and it is always worth sharing from our soul, as you have here. Just lovely. XO ♥

    1. Thanks so much, Diane, for your lovely comment. It’s easier said than done, but having risked is better than having done nothing. We wouldn’t grow within if we never took a chance. Thanks again, my friend, and have a wonderful day and weekend! Hugs and love! xo

  2. I know this feeling too well. When I don’t take a chance on something I always say to myself that it happened for a reason and something better will come along soon. I love to take risks and opportunities unless I have good reason not to. I guess sometimes we also have to make sure we take the right ones and say no to the ones that we know are not going to make us grow in any way. Anyway, I sort of just gave myself permission to think out loud…lol. I think I need to start writing out my thoughts more, in like an essay format..lol. Obviously this has been a very thought provoking poem for me ❤ xxx

    1. Bianca, you made me smile and you can “think out loud” here anytime! All of what you wrote pertains to most of us, I’m sure. Yes, start writing and I’ll be reading, too! Thanks so much for your kind words and have a lovely weekend! xxx

  3. “he who dares wins, he who hesitates is lost ” or so the saying goes,
I think new doors are always opening, whether we choose to go through them well thats always our choice… But if we do not take the opportunities presented we may look back and wonder ” What If “…

When the ‘Signs’ point to us, I have found it always good to follow, we can always alter our routes along the way..

great meaningful poem, which spoke also to me right now.. so thank you xox Sue

    1. Very well said, Sue, and I agree with all of your thoughts! I try not to overlook the signs and you’re right, we can always alter our routes along the way…thank you so much and have a wonderful day and weekend! Much love and many hugs to you!

    1. Aww..thanks, Terri, it’s so easy to fade away in this virtual world and it’s even harder to stay caught up with everyone. Anyway, I’ll be over your way soon and I hope everything is going well with you! Sending you all the love, blessings and hugs, too!

  4. Hmmm…
When darkness seems like the only way out
When the soul is lost in its shadow…
Darkness comes with its own light of beauty
    Lovely written Lauren
I love the way you express from within

I love this!! I can relate to it so much… your way with words is envied.
    “believing darkness
    is their only right”

I have certainly convinced myself of this… now I fight everyday for that light that I now know that I deserve.♥

    1. Aww…thanks, Muse, and yes, the only way of thinking you should focus on is that “you are deserving of the brightest light!” You are a very loving, caring and giving soul. ♥
