While walking down the street,
I couldn’t help but feel peace,
listening to the rustling leaves
without the company of cars.
Then something pungent struck me,
so tangible, I could reach out
and touch…the fragrance of wealth,
and for a fleeting moment,
eyes slowly blinking,
I felt a sense of yearning.
Perhaps, there are those moments
where wishes aren’t so Heavenly,
but very earthly, indeed.
However, the hunger subsided
as rapidly as it came to be
and I sighed, contentedly,
knowing God has provided me
with everything I truly need

Thank you, Linda, and I think it’s only human to have these “moments” as long as we have what we need inside our hearts~xoxo
Any wish that comes from our hearts while in the center of celebrating God’s creation is absolutely pleasing to Him! Wonderful to have the privilege of walking with the Holy Spirit in His marvelous creation!
Thanks for your understanding and inspirational comment, Rose~

Hi Lauren,
Lovely piece as usual 🙂
Thank you so much, FK! Hope you’re doing well! 🙂
I’m fine thanks! been busy recovering a slight illness only to be buried neck deep in work.. but I thank God Almighty for it all 🙂
How lovely, Lauren. It is so true how blessed we are. In moments we were are certain we are lacking, it does not take but a small step in any direction to break the false perception. Great food for thought!

Thanks, Red, for your lovely complement and also for your words of wisdom…it’s only human nature to have these moments, but it’s good to be able to realize they are false perceptions, as you mentioned! Hugs! ♥
Very beautiful poem Lauren and I think all can relate to those moments. Yet, God does truly provide us with all we need, just as he promised. Stay blessed with that beautiful heart of yours. (missed you much and I’m back from my adventures)
Aww…thanks, Scott, for your sweet words; missed ya, too, but I assumed you were having the time of your life with your sweetheart! I hope I’m right! Glad to have you back! xx
Lovely poem, Lauren … we were promised everything we need – not everything we want … as humans, we tend to forget that (even me, lol). Thank you for such as beautiful reminder that we are truly blessed. ~ Love, Julie xoxox
Thanks so much, Julie, and you’re welcome, too! It was one of those moments that I had to write about and I was sure others have felt the same…hugs to you! xo
Boy how I can relate….it is so very human and very normal….love how you opened up in it and softly conquered it with remembrance in the end…..I too, would never trade my little family and the peace and beauty of our country dwelling….so happy and inspired here, so thankful….
love to you
Celeste
Thanks so much, Celeste, for reassuring me that these “moments” are normal and that I’m not alone. And yes, in the end, I’m more than grateful for my family and we, too, have a very cozy country dwelling. I’m happy to have been an inspiration to you! Love and hugs to you, too!
This is a beautiful piece Lauren. The image matches it perfectly. God bless xox
