And the award for best haiku goes to…….. Lauren!!!! 🙂 I should try to learn from you but I’m not sure if I’ll ever be able to say so much with so few words 🙂
Oh, BlueGem, you are too nice! Seriously, I don’t deserve those words, but I’m glad you liked this one, too! I find it challenging to write these with so few lines and the correct amount of syllables, while still trying to convey a relative message. I love using images with Haiku, also. With your amazing writing ability, of course you can! If I can, you can! (I need a synonym for “can” ) 🙂
Thanks so much, Betty! I wasn’t sure about “melodious crunch” but kept it and I’m glad I did, after reading your comment! Photo credit goes to my son! He thanks you, too! 🙂
I here by declare you the Queen of Haiku…you are so amazing how do you do it…seriously you make things look so simple when we know its anything but that..
Awww…thank you so much, Soma! You are so sweet to say that, even though I don’t feel I’m deserving of your kindness. As I mentioned in another reply, I find these challenging to abide by the “rules” and still be able to convey a relative message…I’m glad you enjoyed this one, too! 🙂
Wow, Arch, your kind and powerful words humble me! I don’t see myself in that way, but you encourage me to continue, which is very helpful! My son will also appreciate your photo complement! I value your continued support, so thank you again! 🙂
Thanks, VW, When I saw the abundance of leaves in our yard, I was inspired to write something meaningful about autumn’s exit. You are exactly right! Yes, I love nature, as you can see and haiku is one way of showing my appreciation. I’m so thankful you and others have enjoyed them, as well! Thanks again! 🙂
crunching leaves is like a small addiction of mine as I walk. When I see a dry brown leave blowing across a sidewalk I can’t resist stomping it just to hear the crunch. haha, I know I’m crazy…
Nice haiku Lauren
No, you’re not crazy, unless many of us are! We do the same thing and believe me, we literally had a “blanket” of leaves in our yard, which inspired me! Thanks so much, Scott!
Love, love, love it Lauren!!! you represented Autumn so well in few words. Can’t get the hang of these, I’ll stick with the Hay(na)ku and Limerick and free styles, lol! Blessings and love, Terri
great photo 🙂
Thanks, Elle, and I’m glad you’ve joined us again! 🙂 p.s. I love your new photo!

Wonderful, I can hear it.
Thanks, Martin, and I’m glad you felt the “audio” portion! 🙂
Oh, to crunch with such melodious innudations! Very wonderful and timely haiku–and perfect photo for this post.
Yes, I love the crunching! Photo credit goes to my son, who loves photography and helps me, often! Thanks, Rose!

Thank you, my lovely daughter and editor in chief! 🙂

A creative way to paint the autumn’s exit. Lovely work, my friend. Nature abounds with inspiration for the observant soul 🙂

Once I enlarged it, I thought I could hear the sound of the leaves.

Thanks so much, Terri! I’m glad you loved this one! I’ve only written a couple of limerick and those are challenging! Blessings to you, too!
I can just hear the crunch of those leaves underfoot…This is an excellent poem. Thank you for sharing it with all of us here 🙂
I’m so glad you “heard” the audio part of this haiku! Thanks so much for your kind words! 🙂
I just love this. I can hear the crunch of the leaves. It makes me wish the Autumns up north.
Thanks, Sandra, it is fun to crunch the leaves, isn’t it? We get millions! 🙂
